  1. My sister got married in the Catholic church in 1972 and her frist husband was a woman beater,so after the third black eye in 2 years she got a devorce,so after 3 years she found the right guy who was Catholic and wanted a church wedding, but the church refused to grant her devorce and said no!

So her and her husband to be started their own Church with 3 friends from work and my sister and a woman in their church got their ministry licenses and the other woman married them to the shock of both catholic families, and when my other sister got married my Ministry sister preformed the service,it was my idea and my mom was pissed!

My sister became the head of the Church of Moutain Hiking and Four Wheel Drivers for God!

For years they would go on Church retreats Hiking,4x4 trips, hawaii, and Disneyland and would write it off as a tax deduction,Tee shirts, food, gas, hotels, airfare, and entertainment, witch got them envited to the IRS 5 out of 8 years they did it and won!

But got out of it when the tax system code changed and were tired of being audited. They use to joke about being on the "IRS autmatic audit list"

But anyone can start a Church, maybe THE CHURCH OF CC.COM.?

  2. My favorite part of all my relationships is when they tell me their going to leave me,and my friends who have talked smack about them all call to ask if i care if they go out and i don't! But when people ask me why im not married i tell them the truth "I COULDN'T DO THAT TO A WOMAN FOR IT WOULD CRUEL TO THEM AND ME",I don't mind dating but have never met anyone i couldn't live with out and never never ever wanted KIDS!! So i'll leave it to the rest of you to get hitched or tell me about you ex-wife or ex-husband and the poor kids who get emotionaly fucked for some thing they had no say in,BTW my folks have been married 57 years and had 5 kids of witch 2 have been devorced with kids and remarried and 2 are married with kids.

  3. I 've seen AC/DC 3 times in the 70s-80s as the openning act, they sucked big time, and i was not there to see them so would walk around the halls smoking dope wishing they would stop making rock sound like shit, but do like some of their songs for Angus can play the blues, but hate bands where most of their songs sound the same, album after album! Rush is the same,i jam with a few friends who will put on AC/DC or RUSH CDs and get pissed when i tell them to just play track 1 and put it on repeat for 10 times and get it out of your system for i do not need to hear the rest of the songs for its like some one telling you a joke and after the frist line you tell them the punch line, and they keep going for 45mi. But have heared the new Rush CD and it was a little better with some jazz songs mixed in,but after the third time in two days i never want to hear it again!!

    Dude, you're nuts.

2112, Hemispheres, Signals, Moving Pictures - each album completely different, with a different sound.

You sound like my jam bud,he saids you got to listen to the words but 90% of their music to me sounds the same, and i can tell you its Rush with in 20 seconds!

Don't get me wrong 2112 was good back 77 when i was 19,and i like Back in Black!

but wouldn't waste my money to see them! I would have loved to have seen T REX or Blind Faith but was to young!

  4. steve vai clearly has more technical brilliance in the clippings from his left pinkienail than i'll ever have in my entire life, and i agree with you that yes he is very, very good.

but i class him with that crowd of 'show-off' players who frankly aren't that musical and ultimately pretty un-interesting, like satriani or johnny a (i know, more heresy). just an opinion, and i'm only funnin' you with all the 'repent' and 'consequences' rubbish.

guys like knopfler can put on a 'technically' brilliant show (who knows or cares if he can 'keep up' with vai), and are not above the odd flourish, but ultimately it is about the entire package, the music, and the guitar is contributory, not the main point. someone like steve howe is much better as part of his musical group (though, perhaps, 'yes' should be named on the 'overrated' thread) than on his own, but he remains a technically brilliant player.

just my tuppence, don't take it too seriously. i don't. i love listening to andres segovia and even r&g.

of course we could take this to the next level, and I could make and post a video recording of me playing. then you would laugh so hard that you'd bust a gut and die a horrible death, making your wife a widow and your children orphans, and I would quite obviously win the argument.

Steve Vai started out as back up lead guitar to Frank Zappa's band for 4 years before going solo,Zappa had 100s of band members over the years! He's on the right in background, and Zappa could get anyone he wanted to play on his albums and concert tours!

  6. Zappa was a brain, and could write music from his mind to sheetmusic paper with out having to change it,and wrote all the time! You Tube has a cartoon of "Yellow Snow" check it out!

He also had the top musicians jam with him over the years.

  7. I was raised in the Catholic church, and could not for the life of me understand if god is every where why do we have to go to Church,i mean come on, he knows every thing i do anyway!

This didn't make the money changers very happy with me,because its all about the money.

  8. I allways thought that music is art,so what you like or what i like dosn't matter to any one but us,there are artist who are under rated IMO,but if you have the balls to put it out, good or bad i say right on,and if some one dumps on you for your art so be it,i write and play music and some people say that sounds good who is it? My reply is nobody, its just some thing in my head!

BTW I've seen the Dead 4 times, and enjoyed them but only bought

one record, and have seen lots of bands and enjoyed their music and never owned their records.

Maybe some day i'll sell some songs, but i doubt i would do them my self, for me its just a hobdy and i'm not trying to be someone!

  9. "The planet is a single organism."

Yeah Ol' Carl Sagan had it right... "an organism at war with it self... is doomed" That guy was the man.

Man can fuck shit up on Earth, and Earth can fuck Man up,but the Sun is the real boss!

I think people who pray to the Sun,are the smart ones!

  10. "IN TO THIN AIR" and "THE CLIMB" are two books should be read in that order,I thought John Krakauer writing was great but he was just as much to blame in the out come in 96,And Anatoli Boukreev was a hero, not a out for his self solo climber witch was Krakauers style,John's whole thing was only the best of best should climb, and money shouldn't qualify you to be on the summit.

I read them both in that same order, and I concur with what you're saying. I thought JK was an ass for his characterization of AB and his opinions in general. I thought AB was the consummate hero, along with a couple of Sherpas, too.

Ya, i didn't want to call him a ass hole, but he was a dickhead for what he wrote, and most of it wasn't about his team, who fucked up and 3 died,Anatoli team only lost one!

I'm going up Adams today should be back Sat. Was going to do hood but it looks fucked up so maybe in 2 weeks if it gets better, norm

  11. Bill, your "frogs in the pot" analogy would be a great one, if only we were frogs, and if gun control were a pot of boiling water.

I really don't get the point of this popular little analogy. "Frogs will sit in water and boil to death if the temperature is increased slowly. This proves that the gummint will take away our guns eventually."

I don't get it. It sounds like pretty retarded logic.

Here's something new for you to try Rob. Read the entire post. Do so with an open mind and without prejudging the contents. Then lets see if you have a different response.

oh rob, you get confused when a cop gives you a ticket for asking stupid questions.
