  1. Do you even need to ask that question? "Beer is clear, murky is quirky."

Mind you, a beer can be dark and clear. Cloudy beverages are not beer.

Yeah, Bridgeport IPA != beer.

Costco has Bridgeport IPA for $22.00 a case,i buy 2 when i'm in town!

They also have Fat Tires for $24/case. Much better buy, when you think about it... :brew:

Rite Aid sells Fat Tire most of the time $11.99 a half rack but since you don't like Hefeweizen,I'm shocked that a "BEER SNOB" like you would lower your self to a murky Fat Tire !

  2. I was raised a presbyterian, and come from a long line of missionaries. They went to china in 1860 to save the heathens from the fires of hell. In high school I was going through church confirmation when I happened to fall in love with my classmate Devi Unsoeld, whose father was Willi Unsoeld, the world famous mountaineer. Over a series of dates at the Unsoeld house, where I saw Willi's toes in a jar (lost them on Everest in '63), Willi convinced me that Buddhism made as much sense as Christianity. He was philosophy professor at Evergreen college and very friendly and persuasive. And Devi was so beautiful.

When I confronted my family with the conflict in logic, they said I had to trust in God. Being of an inquiring mind, that wasn't good enuf. I believe in things I can see.

Now I believe in worms. You die, the worms get you. Sorry if that sounds harsh. The world is still a cool place, but I don't think it's any bigger than what you see right now.

I have a few videos, books and mags on Willi.

Well Dr.Brew, now that you've cleared up the issues or dark and clear,i guess i'll go buy some Mississippi Mud "Black and Tan" beer, and if we ever meet for a beer i'll drink yours!

Read the frist 100 pages of "THE LAST DIVE" and drank 3 murky beers, although it jumps around alot,it has some funny shit in it "lets talk about the zoo" or "What? this tape again! or Did i missed a particuiar scene?" and covers the history of diving and the who's who in the diving world, the Martini law, the issues of dive partners (my tanks all had dings in them for me beating the butt of my dive knife on them in a attempt to get my diving partners attention)and the draw of the unknown and absolute zero gravity has on you!

I had i dream last night that i was flying,no plane,no wings, but just like superman, but at times out of control witch is what its like in heavy sea's!

I happen to enjoy reliving in my dreams the best of all the things i done Sking,Surfing,Diving,Climbing,Rappeling Biking,Sex... the jobs and life i've had,and people i've met and places i've been!

  6. Ah. In your first post I thought you meant that your friends were talkin smack about your gf and then went out with her after you split up.

Sorry. Too much day time tv lately.

No you had it right the frist time,my friends were talking smack like god how can you put up with her, what a fucking bitch, and my favorite what do you see in her?

And when i get out of the relationship they call to ask if i care if they date my X,some have married them, some have dated them for years, and some are pissed off "I FUCKED THE DOG SHIT OUT OF THEM FRIST"!

But you know what thay say "YOU CAN'T BE FRIST BUT YOU CAN BE NEXT"!!

I live in Hawaii and my friend had a guy show up at his door asked if his name was Cam,and when he said ya,the guy gave him a black eye and wanted all the nude pictures he took of a old girl friend like 4 years before, the guy married her and she told him about the pic!

  9. A snowmobile sure would be a nice way to deal with the bullshit logging roads on Adams(unless you're into that kind of thing).

Sat night after 3 days climbing and camping got to the car and drove to Macdonalds in Bingen,WA still in my gortex snowpants and climbimg boots ,and this old guy saids been snowmobiling,no just got back from Mt.Adams climbing. So he tells my about the time he rode his snowmobile up to Lunch counter at 9,200 on Adams, and got busted by the Forest cops on snowmobiles and got a big fine! I told him they dont start patroling tell 12-18-08. He smiled and said sounds fun but i just sold his snwmobile for i'm getting too old for that shit!

  10. I seem to recall that a Russian fighter pilot held the record for surviving a fall; 30,000+ feet or something, onto steep powder snow. Too lazy to Google it.

That could be but the guy who fell in Eugene Oregon missed hitting airport runway by 20 feet and landed feet frist in the grass, people on the ground said he bounced 15feet up after hitting, got up and walked to office with his bloody nose!

After going to the Hospital for exrays he was told he had shattered his nose and was releast."THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH" I think it was 86!

    I'll check out the Russian!

  13. I think the record is 3800ft. free fall and walked away in Oregon in 86,the guys parachute didn't deploy and he broke his nose on his harness when hit the ground on his feet, talk about your Kyong Gong Sol Bope!

12-13-2007 Micheal Homes of New Zealand jumped 14,000 feet with helmet cam and the parachute fucked up,so he cuts it free and pulls his back up and nothing, knowing he's a dead man starts fucking saying his goodbyes and lands in black berrie bushes but didn't walk away!

Micheal said he will jump again when he heals, cant find the video but would like to hear what he said!

  14. Please the little lady by culling a few west African kids.

You gotta love the diamond industry. You might as well throw a gram of coke in her stocking while you're at it.

Fuck that,i'll buy something i want, she can buy her own crap!

  15. Thread drift... One of my Dead Head buddies that was at those shows in Vegas was a pretty solid climber too. Unfortunately, he was coming home from a day out climbing in the desert and missed a stop sign due to the blinding sunset in his eyes. Both occupants of the other vehicle he hit were killed. My buddy had some weed on him and gave it to a bystander who promptly gave it to the trooper. At least that was the story I got third hand from another mutual friend. He ended up doing over 5 years and I have not heard from him since. He was a super cool guy that would give you the shirt off his back. I've often wondered what he is like now after being locked up for killing 2 people. I'm sure that would mess anyone up. I did send him a couple letters while he was in the big house but don't know if he ever even got them.

WOW i wonder if that was a plea bargain or found guilty?

Not to mention the victims restitution!

Shit happens but it must lay heavy on him,for taking someones life is a nightmare,i hope he still climbs, for me it my church and clears the mind of the crap i've been going threw, all the lies, bullshit,Pink shirted bottom feeders, and power hungry assfucks don't enter my thoughts!

But this is a band thread so overrated has to be Michael Jaskson 80 million albums sold WTF!!

  16. December 5, 2008 marks the 75th anniversary of the repeal of prohibition. Today, make sure you give thanks for those who sacrificed so much to secure our right to drink freely. :brew:

Been givin' my thanks since 4:30 or so. :brew: Black Butte Porters again this week.

You got ahead start on me,just open my frist one today, got back from Mt. Adams last night,3 days on the snow and rock, just me and my climbing beer or gear, took a 12 pack with me and had to ration them so not to run out, drank the last one on my way down!

The road was nice, could not beleive no one was up there, but friday the wind was 10-25 mph 11:30pm headed for the summit for camp at 8,600ft at 2:30 at 10,600ft 30-45mph plus blew me around like a ragedoll with nothing to hide behind and snowing called it at 3:00am coundn't fill my face or hands, back to camp and beer, still had a blast.

  17. I can't believe I didn't get any pushback when I named the Grateful Dead.

C'mon... Grateful Dead, Grateful Dead, Grateful Dead.

Jerry Garcia -the original aimless noodler.

I went to 3 Dead shows in Vegas, mainly to see the opening acts. I was bored stiff by the end of the Dead shows. I was certainly in the right "frame of mind" but I just don't get it. Much more like country blues than rock and roll (IMO). However, Santana one year and Steve Miller another were well worth suffering the through the Dead part of the show. Would have left early if my buddies weren't such Dead Heads. And oh, by the way, that patchouli oil stinks. Try taking a shower instead...

The dead were a country rock band, but do have some good songs,i'v seen them 3 time with other bands once with Santana,i lived in Hawaii for 4 yrs and fucking dead heads were every where, they all had boot leg live recordings and some claimed to have Jerry Garcias phone number, but they were fun to party with and not assholes!

  18. Maybe your "friends" are afraid to tell you the truth.

No trust me, i've hear them bitch and complain about the better half, their kids, and some times the inlaws. Its a fucking soap opera, but they use me to vent because i only charge a beer or two and my advice is you got married for good times and bad times, and the grass is not greener on the other side of the fence, and if they told their better half how they felt it would start a fight, plus its usually over small things!

My climbing partner of 10 years just got married in June,i'm 18 years older then him and met at work, his dad died when he was 13 so i'm like his second dad,and also his best friend,he wanted me to be his bestman but i talked him in to having his brother as bestman, and i was a groomsmen, when i met his mom she said so your my sons dad and thanked me for raising him,my advice to my son/climbing partner was to learn these words( yes dear, and i'm sorry)and he woud be fine.

I have nothing against marrage but when i was 5 me and two guys were talking Brain said he was going to get married and have 3 kids and live to be 80,Mike said the same but live to be 90,I looked at them shock my head and said i'm never getting married or having kids and i'm going to live to be 100,Brain got married and has 3 kids,Mike has been married two times and has 5 kids, and I've never thought about marrage or kids!!

If you ask them i'm sure they would say they remember it,So i'v got 49 and one half years to go,i think i'll make it!

  19. While there was indeed a part that was that "gist", there were also specifics as to what truely drives a spiritual person and the validity of religion in the proper context. As an added bonus, there were references to the value of "mythology" as it functioned throughout history as the library for all collective knowledge and wisdom of the respective society.

The second part of your last post seems driven by anger and an unwillingness to accept democratic principles. Christianity is still the religion of the majority. If you feel it is "in your face" to have these religious displays in a government building then I would submit that you are a scientific fundamentalist. The religious displays are not intended to be denouncements of other peoples beliefs as the sign in question was. They were displays of beliefs that should be allowed as long as they do not deny the rights of others. I would invite you and the Enumclaw Church of Animal Husbandry to put up your display and see how it plays out in this democratic society.

That would be entertaining. Which seems to be the purpose of news these days. But that is thread drift......

My brother lives in Enumclaw and his wife and kids go to churh every sunday, she also is a sunday school teacher,he stays home because he is Catholic and she is Lutheran!

He don't go to church anyway and stays home to watch NASCAR.
