Go to an Army PX and buy the cheap ass 1$ flip-flops. They are so thin and crappy that they take up almost no weight and are smushable and give your feet a chance to air out after a long climb in boots all day.

No such thing as "overkill" in climbing. No such thing as overkill??? 13mm rope, steel gear, OSHA approved harnesses . . . . all sound like overkill for recreational climbing to me. Who uses 13mm ropes? Who uses steel biners or OSHA approved harnesses to rock climb? That's the point numbnutz

I call bullshit on the shaving your legs because of road rash. How many times a year do you go down on your bike. I have gotten hit once and I really dont see the benefeit of shaving outweighing the giant pain in the ass and the gayness that ensues. I think the reality is that people who bike are generally pretentious and proud people who want to be noticed. Shaving their legs is a good way to break the ice to tell a chick that you are a 'hard-core' speed racer.
