Word. OTOH, I know personally of a guy in 3ID that committed suicide after taking a blast to the head. There are physiologic reasons for a small percent of those afflicted. The blasts common in this conflict can cause a unique kind of ailment similar to BFT to the head. It is another generation though.

A lot of people are overdiagnosed with PTSD. There is really no clinical signs and symptoms that are universal so it tends to get overdiagnosed and people with other underlying conditions are denied treatment for what they really have. Also, the overdiagnosing of the condition has caused many to look at PTSD as a malingerers' disease. Why don't you cool it and listen to what the fuck you are saying. The other thing that is pissing a lot of guys off is that they are trying to give out purple hearts for diagnosed PTSD. KInda frustrating for a guy who had his legs blown off to look over and ask a guy what he got his purple heart for and have him tell him that he has PTSD.

1 out of three is a vast vast exaggeration. I work in the medical community in the military and this number is far far less. Like Justin said. Try listening to people that were there and are here dealing with these issues rather than listening to your immagination or some statistics rattled off by a psychologist whose sole aim is to validate his contract with the US government.

I'll tell you what. Sometimes, doing crossfit first and then climbing will help you with your technique. You are so smoked, you will have to rely on good technique to get you through. Be careful though as i am sure that this could make you more injury prone. YMMV.

Back in the day Russia was being attacked by Middle Eastern groups, and they had military bases located there. Once they pulled their bases out, the attacks stopped. Ever since we have had a real presence in the Middle East we have started being attacked. Seems pretty obvious to me what is going on.... Example: If your neighbor started digging up your backyard because you had the better soil and started planting plants in your soil, I doubt you would be alright with that. If we left Afghanistan today, our security picture would change little. Afghanistan and Pakistan's security picture would likely change, in both directions, but whatever happened would stay mostly regional. I know you want a solid justification for your career choice. Who doesn't? But you're arguing from a purely emotional level, with all the flowery 'men in foxholes' rhetoric that is supposed tug at our patriotic heart strings, but it's not one based on any semblance of reality. There are 'major terrorist' groups all over the world. Afghanistan is just one of many, many places. They're all over Africa, the Middle East, Central and Southern Asia. Nearly all of them profess to hate the U.S. We have little or no presence in most of those places, and it doesn't really matter much. Our security picture remains about the same. The idea of U.S. forces policing the entire world is impossible, impracticable, and mostly a sales job to keep military expenditures sacrosact. So you are telling me that the concentration of terrorists in Afghanistan/Pakistan is pretty well the same world wide? That would be a scary proposition man. I don't think you can grasp the amazing amounts of people that would wish you dead on this earth if that were the case. Truth: Terrorists are coming from every country in the World to fight the great White Satan in Afghanistan/Iraq. I have seen passports from dzs. of countries. Q: If their preoccupation there were to disappear, what would prevent them from planning another attack? The intelligence system that you on this very site so vehemenently attack? Please.
