  1. Beautiful.. Love the frosty snowline photos. Thanks!
  2. Used once. Way toasty. Overkill for my needs. Never stored compressed. Size regular' as opposed to long. $120 Shipped IMG_3710
  3. I think the author should read up on newer literature. Most of the research used is either from the 90's or early 2000. There is a lot of recent research done in the past 2 years, which proves hydration, diet and stress as leading causes of muscle cramping. Muscle weakness plays also huge role as well. No silver bullet for an answer, but there is an scientific evidence contradicting the article. I'd really like to see some of these studies. From what I can find online the hydration, electrolyte hypothesis hasn't been supported at all. In experiments, hypodrated and dehydrated muscles cramped just as readily when electrically induced. What has been demonstrated is that pickle juice, most likely the vinegar, actually works, pretty fascinating. I get hit by cramps harder than most, and the only real solution I've found is climbing a lot and maintaining a high level of fitness. I've experimented with dosing and mega-dosing with all the electrolytes and they do seem to help a bit, but for climbs to come, I think I'm gonna pack some vinegar.. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/06/09/phys-ed-can-pickle-juice-stop-muscle-cramps/
  4. Didn't know about the contest til it was too late.. Too busy with unemployment and the pure pursuit of jollification! Maybe next time.
  5. Trip: Summer 2011: A photo TR - All over Date: 9/23/2011 Trip Report: With classes beginning next week, climbing season is effectively over for me. Tragic, but the last few months were nothing short of absolutely glorious. I took a few photos in the process, Enjoy! There we found a rusted can summit register with three super old entries. Beckey didn't climb it. 6. Thats how it's done in the Wallowas! Thanks for sharing the report and mad photo art.
  7. This pack is in good condition with no holes and all straps and buckles in good working order. Recently bought it second hand and put it to use a couple times but it's not large enough for my needs. I'll likely be in the Willamette valley or Bend areas soon and can meet up somewhere. Otherwise, I can ship. Cheers. IMG_2518 by dalexanderson, on Flickr IMG_2519 by dalexanderson, on Flickr
  8. Let me know if you might be interested! I'm flexible on dates as I have the entire month free after the 4th. Dorian
  9. Aerogel, best insulating material in the universe. Would make some good sole inserts I reckon. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerogel
  10. Climbed middle today alongside a nice couple from eugene. The extra mile is cream cheese. Super nice weather out and the remaining snow on the road is melting fast. You could make it to the TH on top of the morning crust, but you'd have to wait until the next freeze to get out.
  11. I'm headed up for the weather window thursday/friday. 30 days ago it was 3 miles to the TH and deep, so I hope it's improved. Bachelor got 4 inches last night though.
  12. Impassable sans monster truck 3 miles from the TH.
  13. Weather is looking pretty okay for the weekend, anyone know how far you can get towards pole creek th?
  14. The G12 is pretty gangster, better optical zoom than s95, plus more external control dials and easier/more functional adaptation for filter use. Better for manual' function in general. Both are sweet cameras though.
  15. Howdy Bill!, Probably my favorite Hood shot, Gabe climbing towards the pearly gates. IMG_2060 by
  16. Perchance these are the same fellas? They tried to rap the old chute but only after it was too late realized they're rope only reached a quarter of the way down! This left them stranded precariously on an ice face, with nothing left to do except brown stain their brand new mountaineering skivvies! IMG_2376 by
  17. Yar on NE, More east than north.
  18. Got some biscuit brown ale in the primary right now.. just a couple more weeks to go! the wait is killing me it smells so damn delicious. Sweet bags by the way!
