Apparently, certain 'credentialed experts' and their followership can't grasp the concept of a self reinforcing system, where co2 causes warming, which causes more co2.... Nor are they aware that there have been reasonably accurate models correlating co2 with average global temperature for over 100 years now, and that the back data (that half millions years or so of 'intangible evidence' buried in polar icefields) matches current version of these models quite well.

Did you actually read this? Chris Horner - the famed lawyer from the Competitive Enterprise Institute, and reciepient of over $2M in funding from Exxon Mobile over the last few years, "believes" NASA is hiding something. How can you not write sarcastic emails about this crap. Some non-scientist writes a pop-fiction book about global warming skepticisim, has an opinion based on nothing in a field he knows nothing about, and it's put on the Moonie's Washington Times banner. Got any other gems? You actually clicked on it? I mean, taking a potshot at FW once in a while is one thing. It's like a bucket of kittens conveniently placed under a spicket, but reading his links...that is a level of commitment I just can't muster.

Interesting recent article in the New Yorker concerning Obama's huge increase in the use of execution by drone, BTW. He's authorized more drone air strikes in his first 9 months than Bush did in his last 3 years in office. We're now letting Pakistan select targets for OUR drone strikes. Scary. The author concluded that this is probably the only tactic (although we're using as a strategy) that's producing any results in Afghanistan. A whole lot of innocent folks pay the price, of course.

good article - glad i read it - he used it negatively, but i agree that the obama-lama's course is "pragmatic" - it might be morally bereft, as he says, but it will ultimately at least get us the hell out of there - i would have been happier w/ a complete exit, but i doubt his west point audience would have been so polite about it also, politics being what they are, obama can't appear to be a total pussy, and that's what you get called when you back down w/o any fight. i hope this works - if it doens't, i hope as few people die as possible, and that in fact no more afghan chickens come home to roost. Nixon did the same thing in Vietnam. A whole lot of folks died on both sides during the 'symbolic gesture' period, which lasted nearly as long as WWII in its entirety. Once your adversaries sense you're a short timer, they tend to turn the heat up.

Sooo....Al Gore's to blame because he was successful at getting the word out about the effect of our own individual behavior? The populace was supposed to, you know, already JUST KNOW what the aggregate effect of their individual lifestyles? Do you ever post anything that actually makes any sense at all? OH, and BTW, regarding your second statement: that can be found nowhere in Gore's or anyone else's thesis, for that matter. We're all to blame...that's been the mantra from day 1.

True, but the religious version of fucktard have successfully quashed formerly successful population control programs in places like Mexico and India, and there are still plenty of folks right here who seem to be pumping more than their fair share of new little engines of consumption and waste production.

Hiding ones head in the sand is a common reaction to worsening conditions. The sad part about this so called 'debate' is that, as it continues, the effects of human produced co2 are coming far sooner and at a far greater magnitude than even conservative models predicted. Unfortunately, some of those same models predict truly catastrophic effects in the not so distant future; rapid sea level rise, truncating (that means to shorten or cut off, Stonehead) the Gulf Stream to Europe, and wiping out most of the world's plankton, which is, after all, only our primary oxygen supply. Personally, I think we're screwed. It's the old 80/20 rule. Only 20% or less of the population need be fucktards to block any real solutions from happening. I find it a bit unfathomable that folks like FW are willing to fuck their own kids in the ass with regards to the planet they'll have to live on in order to indulge in their contrarian personality disorders and fit in with their fellow fucktard tribal members, but hey, what could an atheist possibly know about this kind of moral decision, let alone good parenting? You'd think they'd err on the side of caution, particularly given the stark physical evidence today, but I guess that's for pussies. As this shit comes down, don't look for the fucktards to wake up and smell, well, anything having to do with reality. They'll hunker down even harder, waving their bibles, ranting about prophesy, recycling worn scraps of junk science...pretty much what they're doing now, only a lot louder. The good news is that our future planet will probably mandate a substantially reduced population.

wind power can be stored with either compressed air or elevated hydro systems. In the future, home battery banks might help the problem. Power can also be smoothed by a higher peak usage rates, which direct demand to periods when the wind is highest in the area. A wind farm can also be interleaved with solar generation, which would complement and smooth overall power generation. Or cows could be raised for a shitpile generation system.

The Serbs gave it a good go. Skirmish, by comparison.

First time I ran into them they were into building a bridge across the arctic and some really fuckin big Martian style canals. A couple of years later they would demand no less than the impeachment of Bush. Two years ago they were pushing the GW Hoax agenda with a dash of genocide thrown in. LaRouche keeps it fresh because his young followers require a frequent change of venue. Personally, I favor Martian style canal, or any mega-project easily visible from space. That shit's cool.

Don't matter none. We been doing most of the killin since WWII while our former allies have found a different way.
