They are fatter. The myth is that healthy food is more expensive. It isn't. Not by a long shot. I agree that education is one key to solving the problem.
-
Well, I'm 51 and I can tell you that the availability of inexpensive, high quality food now is light years ahead of what it used to be. Every supermarket has a full organics section. Most have great bulk sections. Sure, they sell shitfood, too, if that's what you're into. It's a choice. And who in their right mind is going to give this clown show of a congress MORE power to regulate our already highly regulated lives? From the people who brought you the deficit, endless war, the War on Drugs.... Read the labels and STFU. Foods that aren't GMO proudly proclaim it (for advertising purposes, of course).
-
Economics has fuck all to do with it. That's a complete myth. Whole foods are the cheapest way to go. Apples: .59/lb. Rice: .50/lb. Oats: .79/lb. Chicken: 1.99/lb etc.... It's a choice. Poor people also smoke more. Cuz smoking is cheaper than not smoking, perhaps?

I just ordered some Tejazzle....
-
Half full, anyway. BLT, bitches!
-
your belief that it is easy to unplug the boob tube is clearly not supported by the evidence around us. When I suddenly give a shite about what the rest of the herd is doing, I'll let you know. Full plate o' me own and all....
-
There's medication for that, I think.
-
Fuckin' right, cuz I got the better part of a BLT stuffed into me pie hole!
-
Master's are good if you want to know practically fuck all about about a lot of stuff. PhD's are better if you want to know a lot about something no one else cares about.
-
So, label the food (already done!), edumicate the population (needs work), and let the citizen decide. My plan exactly!
-
Cool, cuz for a minute there I thought you were going to attack free speech rights and stuff. I know a lot of TVs no longer have 'off' buttons, but I hear (not owning one, this is second hand), that you can unplug 'em and they stop making picherz and noise.

One thing I love about my buds is how much they go on and on about how spiritual they are, as compared to the rest of the population, of course.
-
Not a PhD? Hmmm...could be a self esteem issue.
-
MUST NOT WATCH TV...
-
Food is labeled well enough for any consumer to make their choices, so STFU and let's eat!
-
Morality is action. Spirituality is something you necessarily include on your eHarmony profile.

Certainly, public education and voluntary compliance couldn't possibly be a solution. Legal sanctions have worked wonders with drugs. Wonders.

I would so love to draft a federally mandated diet program. Given that the dieting industry is practically non-existent in this country, I'm sure there'd be no corporate co-opting during such a project. Then naps. then vices, and jobs, and...oh, wait.

There's not shortage of attractive young ladies on the innernutz, if that's what you seek...some will even be happy to show your their face AND their butt crack, too.
-
Health is a wholistic affair. Sleep, relationships, food, vices, exercise, self actualization, work, hygiene, and genetics determine one's level of health, much of which is obviously subjective. We should regulate all of these aspects of life to ensure our population is as healthy as can be. Will federally enforced nappy time include graham crackers and milk, or would those foods pass federal muster?
-
Junk food is labeled, and therefore regulated. What constitutes junk food and how should it be regulated? Sold only at Gubmint run mini marts? Anything with corn syrup in it? Will the gubmint check if you've run your 10 miles a day so you can share that gelato with your honey on a fine summer's evening? Would there be 'junk dark chocolate' (controlled) and non-junk dark chocolate? Is steak junk food? Which cuts? Only hamburger? Lean's OK? What % fat? This sounds like a good jobs program.....
-
Reducing the entirety of an attractive young woman to a butt crack is gonna get you sooooo laid.
-
Tobacco, unlike food, is a controlled substance that is illegal for minors. Very poor analogy.
-
Can you get just a little bit more general on that? TIA

Concocted stories tend to be 'plausible' by design, particularly if the author knows his audience's bias. For this reason, implausibility (you can't make this stuff up kind of stuff) is more a measure of plausibility, if other forms of vetting are not available.
