If anyone has any info on boulders within 45mins of olympia i would like to know. i found some in Skommunchuck off of Johnson Creek road. There also is a TR at the boulder location. thanks! Also there is one on the Mt. Elanor trail I'm pretty sure.
Any climb at exit 38 is a good intro to outdoor sport climbing. I was lucky when I started to lead I was in the 10s and was able to skip the anoying 5.9 and under problems. Make sure that you are climbing with an expierenced climber, and not a buddy from the gym who climbs at your level.
(Don't start @ the quarry, it would be scary)
Uh, why is it raining. I made my sacrifice to the rain god as well as the rock god. I gave lots, lots of skin. If rained out on Wed. I'll be at gym tomorrow afternoon.
DMM makes some of the best carabiners on the market. Their Helium Draws are the lightest and the best draws out there. Deffinately made for sport or mulitpitching.
Off, where were you on Wed? We missed ya. Any chance that we could bolt some new climbs. I linked the climb left of Animal Crack and did sissy on the plank, and the "arch" to the left of never give up are ripe for the picking.
Stand near the wall, always, this way you won't hit the wall as hard as standing far away. Also get a grigri, they're the best in these situations so that you don't drop your climber. When you feel about to fly put one foot on wall as a brace.
If the best team is by success, then the Warehouse Rock Gym's team kicked butt, 100% of their team qualified for Nationals!!!! The team consisists of...(me) VW did good as well as Edgeworks. Go Cody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you tried going to the Warehouse Rock Gym in Olympia first to gain some climbing expierence? I'm pretty sure that you can come and watch. Just talk to Off(he doesn't bite).
