  1. That definition works for me!
  2. Yeah, it was a heel hook that nailed me, too. How long ago was it you did yours? And what do they mean by discomfort? I'm not using it much, but I noticed it seems only uncomfortable at the time I use it, but hurts later. Yeah, the late-night thing. I've noticed it doesn't hurt so much if I've slept on my side, as long as I stick a pillow between my knees. Grrr.
  3. This must have happened to everybody here, so I expect you'll all roll your eyes. I strained a ligament in my knee a week and a half ago. Pain isn't bad, and the only restriction to my motion is how uncomfortable it gets. But the knee is a little unsteady and it clicks. I used RICE and I've been taking it easy, doing some really mild stretching. It's coming back, but I don't know how much to push it, if at all. When do I start climbing on it again? Last week I went to SG and climbed a 5.5 (don't laugh), just to move it some. That was okay, but it hurt more the next day. I can't believe it's about waiting till the pain's gone, because that could be months from now. Is it when range of motion's back? I already have that, but I can tell it's still too weak to use like that. Do I ease into it, like the 5.5? I'm concerned I'll slow down healing. Do I set an arbitrary period, and if so how long? Do I see a PT? It doesn't seem that bad, and it was ten days ago. I'm old enough that I don't heal overnight, so I can't just bull through the way I might have at 20. Until the last six months I've never been the least bit physical, so what to do is totally new to me. I can't afford to fuck up my knee and not climb, but when do i get to start again? PM me if this is too tedious to go into here. </whine>
  4. No problem. I'll just go drink somewhere else.

    Rope Care?

You have whites? Ever since I started doing this, everything I own is pale gray.
  7. You're right, Timy. Proof in hand.
  8. What's that supposed to mean? Tool is free, yeah? And --Oh, never mind. It wasn't that funny the first time.

Was fabulous. SG is empty at that time of day/week. Can't wait for the next one!
  11. I hear you're cheap at twice the price.
  12. Suddenly I'm not hungry.
  13. This is great advice. Thx! I don't mind getting my ass handed to me. I feel as though I'm always climbing over my head. oh god, what a lame joke.
  14. I have a meeting on the Gorge somewhere toward the beginning of May. Would that be a good time to go there? smith in may is lovely. prepare to have your ass handed to you unless you have been climbing at Index... then it will seem easy or levenworth... it's hard there too Pretty much no matter where I go I'm gonna have my ass handed to me.
  15. In after climbing class, nine-thirtyish. I'll be the chalky one.

  18. I would love that. Let me know.
  19. I bailed on that a while back: no job security.
  20. Can anyone play?
  21. ...besides a beta test, I mean.
  22. I've been hesitating to ask because everyone here climbs at much higher levels than I do. I started climbing a few weeks ago, and I'm hoping I can find someone to climb with who is either not much better than I am, or willing to help me getting better. I'm currently doing 5.8s top roping, though I'm not very graceful, and I managed a 5.9 on Tuesday without actually ripping my arms out of their sockets. I've been bouldering some, but I have trouble even with V-0s. My real interest isn't how hard things are, but how smoothly I can send them. I'm taking beginning climbing at Stone Gardens, but I need time outside of class. I could go other places if that's more convenient. Is this something anyone's willing to do? Drop me mail, and thx-- Kij

I hope y'all do this again. I work downtown, so after work is great for me, but otherwise that's what lunchbreaks are for.

I checked out sheclimbs and their Washington state contact is Amy Recker at Vertical World, but mail to her bounced. The sheclimbs site looks pretty dated. I'm new to climbing and looking for partners, but I'm not at your level, Julia. I only just started (like three weeks ago), so I'm doing a lot of top-roped 5.7s and 5.8s and building some muscle so I can boulder.
