I like to carry glacier glasses and a pair of clear or yellow lensed goggles. -
I think the BD guide sucks and so does the Cinch, my climbing partner has one and I have the GRI-GRI. The GRI-GRI is way better it feed smother, and has been tried and true by people way more intense than me.they are both idiot proof. for daily belaying I love the Reverso and cary an ATC as a back-up ever since I watched a guy drop his rap device at the top of a 50m climb. I now carry a back up device. Also consider a prusik or autoblok knot on long rapells for those "epic" moments.

Is there a recommendation for a Digi Video/ still?

if you are looking for a bombproof point and shoot, I have the pentax optio w10 and it is great. waterproof and dustproof, a great camera climbing and backpacking. there is a newer model but this one is great. my girlfriend has the olympus stylus 725 SW and it too is great. -
I climbed Adams this weekend and we used a UL 3 season backpacking tent in sustained 30-40 mph winds and it was fine. The three person tent might be nice because it would allow the party to be more social but, at the same time that means NO privacy.

I am looking for a partner to do some climbing in the metro area and beyond. I am still at school now and will be coming home in mid june. Any takers?

I wish their(MHW) Chugach Jacket came with the option of a hood.

Thanks but I would prefer a snythetic jacket, because I already own a down vest.

I am looking for a good (also not so expensive)belay jacket. I would like it to be on the lighter end, be fairly compressable and have a 2 way zipper(for the belay device). So far I have looked at: Moonstone Cirris hooded jacket OR zero jacket Patagonia micro puff and DAS This will be a 4 season jacket used in all sorts of applications (sport, ice and alpine climbing) Which would you chose or are there others that I am overlooking?

I second that, and Tom brokaw(sp?) was a BADASS in his day.
