bonathanjarrett, kudos to you for stepping up and making yourself known. regardless of what happened on the climb it takes a pretty upright and outstanding person to come forward and face criticism and possibly blame. too often people dont make themselves accountable for their actions, whether they were right or wrong.

considering how little snow we have had I would think there is a good chance that the road to Lolo Pass is still driveable, if the gate is open. and with this rain and warm temps if the road isnt passable now it will be soon!

I thought Porto Escondido was the place for big waves in Mexico? not too long ago someone posted about climbing on the beaches there...go back through some recent posts, this month I believe, and you should be able to find some climbing information regarding the beaches on the west coast. have you climbed any of the volcanos down there? look in the "climbing partners" section, I thought someone was looking for partners to rock climb in Potero or whatever that canyon is called.

I know that this may be bit if symantics but the NPS didnt PUMP sewage into the cracks. it had a holding tank OVERFLOW. I think there is a big difference between the two, not only liquid volumes but also intent, and I think that is really the key issue here, the NPS didnt intend to have extra fluid in the cracks, it was an accident. and we all know that accidents happen in climbing.

I have never used a B-52 but I love my Reverso.

oh, that gate...I guess I am just so used to using the upper lot I forgot all about the gate to the White Salmon Lodge. whenever I have gone into the BC from the ski area I have always started from the upper area, including the time I started up the Arm, I just never made it as far as I wanted to go, hence the reason I am interested in heading up the Arm all the way to shuksan. thanks for posting that link BTW, that was a great TR and nice photos.

I followed your link to get some information about the wall and couldnt find anything. I looked all over and didnt find anything about a climbing wall.

if you used the combo to get up the road and got caught what do you think they would do? or what could they do?
