  3. Considering your post, right on, and I believe your comments were from the heart and without refrain from the truth, but from a friday nights standpoint I must mention that- I just just saved tons of money switching over to Geico on my car insurance.
  4. Respect is within, thats why I keep my climbing resume to myself, cause 95% of the people wouldn't believe the stunts I've pulled...lol But he's right. To a degree. Ya spend enough time on certain hair raising routes on smaller hills, and you will find that others will cling towards your ability and experience as something to admire (respect), especially when some folks wish they had done what we did, but couldn't. So I credit myself as a person that doesn't give a damn about the whole respect thing, but I do 'understand', and thats where I agree with Transplant.
  5. So you see, my six-pack idea wasnt so bad after all.
  6. Damn. I pray to never get on anyones bad side here. lol
  7. Im planning a solo ski run down the Emmons from Liberty cap in 2 weeks. If you can hang on skiis, your more than welcome to come. My permit is already approved, but Im sure I can change it to a 2 or 3 person party asap. Let me know.
  8. I'll get you up there for just a six pack, and some company to share it with. Planning on skiing the Emmons soon. PM if interested.

  10. Like the rest said, Metal is the way to go since I broke a plastic one digging out a snow cave once. I now carry a Black Diamond Bobcat shovel (without the extender), and a BD Carbon Fiber wand for searching out my partners when they slip off an unheeded cornice or something. I like the CarFib probe because obviously, its light, but if you have ever probed a body or a buried soft tree limb with a metal one, its hard to tell, the CF gives you a better "Feel" of what "It" is, but thats my point of view as a former patroler.
  11. By the way...............Welcome!
  12. See if you can rent some AT boots, and get to "feel" the difference in them as opposed to alpine boots. I like my Denali Xt's, and that is because I did my homework, and tried a few different boots, and in essence, this boots fit ME the just right, and were good for me on long approaches, and tours. Thats all I can say for now. You are doing the right thing by asking questions here, I just wish I had all the answers, but you'll find something soon. Thats all i can
  13. Im looking to stretch my sea legs too, and have weekends off with my new job now. So count me in guys, I know the mountain pretty well and am just itching to go out and play this winter.
