  1. Geeez...!
  2. Interested in a 18hr or less traverse from Eagle PK through Unicorn PK sometime after the roads are open on Stevens Can Rd...... I'm considering Friday (MID) afternoon through a Saturday (MID) afternoon run the most. BV/ Fast, Loose, Light as hell... .....And I mean fast as hell!!!!!!!!!! No ropes (obviously), typical winter setup, 1 meal+backup, and just breaks here and there. Just need a second which is interested, and has a vehicle so we can loop around back toward our initial Longmire vehicle. Save this Post... because it should be fun with the right partner. Thanks
  3. Its a great route though.
  4. ok................
  5. I have done it 4 times in the winter, and have no beta on it apart from : Make sure you bring a bottle of 151 or equivalent. Be absolutely sure your tent door faces South. At 12K and about 244deg NNW from the Fingers general high camp you will find a rock cairn approximately 3.75 ft tall, LEAVE IT ALONE, and I say again LEAVE IT ALONE and do not open, remove or disturb any rocks on this pile. Beta on the Cairn is only know by 2 people, myself, and Mike Gauthier, which is of no concern to you what is under those rocks....Thanks The wind always whips around the Thumb route several knots stronger, so if you have to pee, face the left. You get great phone reception from the Finger. This is all I can say for now.
  6. Thanks...I saw that yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that...I climbed it leashless, and skiied down it.
  7. Perhaps they are smarter or just havent had an oportunity to take over our sport and dominate...? Its only a matter of time before one of my human brothers will have white dudes as sherpas....

  13. CAA?.....What were the names of those two from up there in the SouthPark movie.......? Anyway, if we were going to consider CAA as something outstanding, we might as well start a high altitude institution in Jamaica, then make it a 4-20 day course, and probably still be on the same page as CAA without the snow. Blow your own horn?.....Aye? ...that you're aware of. http://www.avalanchecourse.com/ I was aware of this course, and the other mentioned too, and I still stand by my opinion. And I HAVE taken some of the American Level 1 and 2 courses. The Canandians just did a better job IMO. I'm not saying the American courses are bad. On a practical note, it makes sense to take a course in your region, unless you intend to ski/board/snow-mobile in the American Rockies all winter. I like some of Arcteryx's clothing better too, but I'm sure someone else here will point you to the North Face, or REI, etc, etc...
  14. Well said Dru......I think.........nevermind, yeah it was...lol
