  1. Hmm, I don't think I do. But thanks. Teh Interwebs tells me it's also good for hemorrhoids, birth control, and tumors. A remedy every home can benefit from. I did just smear some vitamin E on the wounds, and they don't hurt anymore. Maybe that does help the healing process.
  2. Yeah, I've used those to prevent blisters. I'll give it a shot.
  3. My trainers have been giving me blisters, so I got a new pair, but before getting a chance to wear them, I wore dress shoes last night and ended up with quarter-size blisters on both heels. I was so planning to hit the trail this weekend, and now I can only wear open-back shoes. Gaw dam it!! Any tricks on healing blisters quickly? I know to drain them; then what? I've heard aloe vera and vitamin E can make wounds heal quickly, but I haven't notice them make much difference in the past. Idears?
  4. At least you spelled "cock" right. And, um, "stroke."

  7. Should people who can't spell "masturbation" or "whack off" be allowed to?

From here on, it's one inexorable trudge toward winter.
  10. I have that recurring nightmare, too.
  11. I know that. But they are rarely used for eating disorders like obsessive eating. They need to be. Are you telling me that in America, where the diet industry is multi multi multi millions of dollars, shrinks haven't decided that charging a hundred bucks an hour to talk to fat people might be a good idea? Largely (ha), that be it, man. I'm not saying they aren't out there, but look through a list of psychologists and psychiatrists, and a small percentage will include eating disorders as an area of specialty, and I bet few would include "obsessive eating" as an eating disorder. Typically that refers to anorexia or bulimia. My opinion and experience. YMMV. Anyway, movin' on. Carry on, then, mates.
  12. Like with so much of psychiatric medicine, I'm sure there is a difference of opinion on that*. I think of "addictive personalities" as people who regularly practice obsessive behaviors, and who use things--food, alcohol, drugs, sex--to escape and not face the realities of their lives. Often when they manage to stop one addictive behavior, they replace it with another**. I know that. But they are rarely used for eating disorders like obsessive eating. They need to be. * I'm not trained in psychology or psychiatry--merely talking from my life experience. ** I'm not talking about the middle-aged person whose metabolism slows and they gradually put on a few pounds a year, or people who gain weight from taking a certain medication or from lying around with a broken leg, etc. I'm referring to obese people who constantly think about food, like my mother, who uses food to medicate herself, if you will. They are like bulimics, only they don't purge--they just become obese.
  13. For some people, that's like telling a junkie to stop using. Instead of these nasty drugs, the medical folks need to focus on treating addictive personalities.
  14. Wow. That is very cool and open minded. Definitely. I remember asking in Sunday school once how we know "our" religion is the "right" one and the others are "wrong." The poor volunteer Sunday school teacher looked surprised and flustered, and said, "We just do. We just believe it." Surprising I wasn't kicked out. But dang if I don't appreciate religious and spiritual people who will honestly contemplate these kinds of questions, instead of putting on blinders to pretend the questions, and their implications, and the people who ask them, don't exist. In other words, churches and beliefs that allow questioning.
  15. In fifth grade my class went to Olympia to see the capital/capitol (hasn't every school kid in the Puget Sound area done this?). The highlight was seeing then-governor--seriously dating myself here--Dixie Lee Ray giving an interview on the capitol steps. Woot! What I remember most about all field trips is the sack lunch. Mom always put added a can of soda wrapped in foil to field trip lunches, because we wouldn't be at school to buy the cute little cartons of milk.
  16. I'm talkin' takin' a different "meth". I'm wit ya, man. I was just throwing in another drug to the cocktail. Carry on.
  17. I've heard meth makes you a better climber. Except for when you have to stop and pick at your sores when leading. That's the only down side.
  18. The insult thread is the next door down, eh.
