  1. Grandma could barely contain her joy or her forward momentum as she left the garage sale.
  2. I just don't get the fact that it was 90+ degrees and this woman was wearing a sweater with a scarf (not sure if you can see the scarf in the picture). It was weird. fuckin' funny though.
  3. Thanks also for choosing to accept that he died doing what he loved and not doing something "stupid." I hope you can use this as a tool to move forward with your life. Best of luck. Stick around and post more often. -Clint
  4. those are some really incredible photos. I'll have to get out there and do something there next summer when I'm back in WA. Great job guys
  5. Good luck Leor, wish I could go with ya! Maybe another time!
  6. no I do in fact live there, but I've been visiting and climbing in WA for a month. I leave for AK on the 14th.
  7. I saw this lady on her motorized wheel chair today while turning onto 116-west from Tacoma on 6th street. It was the craziest thing I've ever seen. She was like an ancient moving obese forest on wheels. I was lucky enough to snap a few shots without it noticing and becoming enraged. It could have done immense damage to my explorer.
  8. yeah that's what I figured. STill. TNF has gone way downhill. Every preppy girl in town has a black north face parka.
  9. if you bought it from REI then just take the shoes back. The crappiest piece of gear I can remember buying that I was incredibly unsatisfied with was a North Face coat. It was purchased NEW on ebay, granted, but still, it was shoddy. THe seams came apart, it just has a cheap feel, and the zipper broke after a few months of winter use. It was smaller than it said it was and the fabric wasnt waterproof or even a three layer gortex. It was lame. TNF sucks nowadays.
  10. where are you located? I'm in Bremerton on the Peninsula so it might not be as simple as that. If you're up for something in the Olympics (the Brothers, Constance, etc) I'd be game. Maybe we could work something out.
  11. My buddy and I are heading out to the Sloan/Glacier peak area. We are doing one or the other, but are unsure of certain trail conditions and road closures. We would prefer to do the Sitkum glacier route on Glacier peak, but understand there are some serious mudflow impediments that have covered the kennedy hot springs and made the white chuck river trailhead inaccessible to cars. This seems to preclude the use of Trail 643 which begins at the White Chuck Trailhead. We were thinking of just going up Trail 646 but are unsure of distances and trail condition. Because this is the case we are at a loss figuring out which way to approach glacier peak. Information from anyone who has done or attempted the climb since the road closures would be very helpful. Thanks and Good Climbing. We are going up tuesday so the sooner the information is availible the better. -brian
  12. yeah what the hell was that about? You are mean! YOU MUST BE A RANGER!!!
  13. that's awesome. good read!
  14. i'll be a volunteer ranger at either Rainier or on Denali next summer. I'll make sure i'm not like these aformentioned dudes.
  15. glad you were successful, Pup! Hopefully next season we'll be able to match schedules and climb together.
  16. you linked it in the other thread, i read it, was confused. it's not an attack...easy now. I've been on Rainier three times in the past month. Hopefully another time or two before I leave for AK in 10 days.
  17. not to rain on your parade, but 5AM isn't really considered an early start...especially in august. Great job though, i'm going to give this route a second attempt, I think. We got blown off by hurricane force winds in early july which shredded our tent.
  18. kevin, if you read this, my cell phone is broken and I can't check my voice mail. call my house phone. shit! we'll probably have to push it back a day.
  19. Kraken

  21. Yeah, I know. I talk a lot. Luckily I DO actually get out there and climb what I talk about I just like to know what I'm about to throw myself into.
  22. I've heard it is still in pretty good shape. Good firm corn snow and neve. I was planning on calling White River Rangers tomorrow to see what they say.
  23. right on, that's bad ass. BASE Jumping is one of the things I fully intend on getting involved in, in the near future.
  24. hopefully our luck will be as good as yours when we attempt this route on Tuesday. Wish us luck.
