  1. No it is Bluebird. CC.com makes the image smaller when posting. On my PC at home you can see Arent by his red shirt.
  2. These two pictures were taken from the same spot. Question is......can you find the climber in the second picture?
  3. Beacon stoke.
  4. Amazing. Question? How does he get off? What did he do with his skis? Did the camera crew get them or will he return for them?
  5. I am taking the kiddos (along with my younger brothers) to smith rock in June to climb for the day. That will be my first try with my kids. They are still young......
  6. Nice.
  7. Why? It seemed so appropriate.
  8. Attention: As a free man of the great state of Washington I would like to take this moment to say that you are a bunch of clowns. The absolute drivel that you, 11worth hard men, continually slather each other with is not only embarrassing to read quite unhealthy for the greater population of normal, well adjusted climbers who made the simple mistake of living in your area. Think of the childern, think of somebody besides yourself for once. I find it hard to not want to build a trebuchet and hurl the lot of you into the cold dark waters of the Puget Sound then bulldoze Castle rock and build a wall out of it to keep you out of the great state of Washington. I shout at the top of my lungs that you, yes you, deserve each other. -Is it strange to you that you hear none of this limp discourse from residents of other areas? -Do you wonder how the rest of us get along without tottering old coots deciding what is right for us? -Why do you insist on endlessly waving your little flag hoping that somebody might stop and agree with you? We think you are a bunch of clowns. OMG. Somebody put a bolt on Castle Rock!!!!!!!!
  9. No such thing in the area I live in. Ever heard of moss?
  10. Elitist ownership of public land. And its not just as elitist to bolt a line thus setting a sport precedence before all boltless trad applications have been exhausted? Its ok because more people clip bolts and there is safety in that mass of humanity huh? Why do trad applications have to come first?
  11. Elitist ownership is thinking you can gratuitously drill sport-routes anywhere you feel like ON PUBLIC LAND, leaving your selfish metallic mess in your wake ON PUBLIC LAND, rather than practicing restraint by top-roping or "developing" clean lines and walking away if you can't. A sport-climb is just like a whole wall of tossed empty beer cans you can't throw away without making a lot of effort. It goes both way my friend. Telling other potential developers that they cant bolt simply because someone has a "vision" is also ownership.

  14. Elitist ownership of public land.
  15. Is there a trail that connects the DZ to the zone yet? There will be.

Why is it you lock threads that are just getting going? I mean some of us here dont want to talk about ice tools and rock shoes all day. Having a discussion (no matter how much of a dead horse) is what "chat rooms" are all about...right? I know you have all the power and I don't own the site and all that jazz....but locking the thread simply because YOU think it is a dead horse is lame. IMHO. So does that mean every IB thread is in jeopardy from here out? Just asking.... Have a great day. Bone
  19. they shut down the IB thread?
  20. Because Beacon is the best climbing in Oregon, and its in WA. that's why!
  21. Save the birds to save the moss, give me a break.
  22. Thanks Russ. If it were not for your observation / spray on us PDXers we would have nothing to blog about. Being that the “chopped bolts” thread is dead now. Once again thanks a bunch for the spray.
  23. In 1997 some friends of mine and I climbed Liberty Bell via the Becky route. There was a party of two behind us. We summited and hung out on top for about a hour with the other party. The older of the two (the other party) was naming all the peaks in all directions. He knew every climb within eyeshot. He took our picture (of our party) and was very nice. He intruduced himself as Dallas Kloke, one of Fred Becky's climbing partners. Very cool. I will never forget that moment.
  24. If you want to clean up cc.com (which happens to be a climbing site), try getting rid of all the political threads.
