fair question. Whether I like it or not, I now call PDX home. I can't just drop by Ramuta's on my way home from work. Now maybe I'll reconsider my options

I just got my mythos resoled from Mountain Soles. When I picked them up, I noticed the half soles were already peeling off! I couldn't believe they would stand by that crap! Needless to say, I wasn't planning on paying 50 bucks for poor craftsmanship, so I had them fix the seam. Time will tell how they stand up. My grading scale so far is. ramutas did a great job and the shoes held up over time Dave Page cobbler - C + (1 pair) Ramutas -A (2 pairs) Mountain soles - D

Damn! I was hoping things would turn around in terms of access. There are so many great cracks down there. I was down there a couple years ago, unknowingly aware that access had been taken away. A BC railroad guy questioned us, but decided not to write us up. In return trips to Squamish, I have respected the closure. It's too bad it came to this. what the f*&!

We went right at the big grassy ledge, which turned into quite an adventure Next time, we should get it right I ran across a tree frog living in a crack in pitch 2. I threw my hand in the crack and found the slimy little guy. Also, while standing at the base a nice snake landed at my feet. Didn't know I would get a trip to the zoo, while climbing the route -

[Note (p4): the route does not go up the either the big dihedral at the right (east) end of the ledge or the very back corner - again it goes out and up left (south) to get up on the spine of the arete and then straight up.] I found out first hand yesterday that going up the east edge of the ledge was a no no. A couple hours and 2 pitchs later after having to pull thru on some roofs, we made it to the tree below the SE corner finish. The right dihedral kept leading me right. There were a few rusty pitons along the way, so I know there had been someone up the "route" before. It was some dirty, strenuous climbing on the right. I wish I had read the TR before venturing up! The second pitch is amazing though! -
Sweet. Nice work fellas Anyone want to climb out there manana? I'm looking for a partner. PM me if interested.

The roc trip was a great time this past weekend. I had some doubts, but it turned out to kick some ass. It's not too often you can share a beer with some of the best climbers in the world. I got a chance to have a nice chat with beckey. He's got a nice sugar momma with him these days, which is pretty friggin hilarious. Another higlhight was hanging out wo-man child Lyn Hill herself on the same boulder problem. It was just a warm up route for her, but it was still pretty sweet. And with all the sporto's in town, the good trad lines were all free!

nice pictures!! Did you head back to the elephant perch? Much snow at the lakes? Thinking about making a trip there soon

The Erik that died weds. was a good friend of mine back when I lived up Seattle. He grew up in Redmond. He was a super strong skier and knew all the best stashes at Alpental. Both skiers were well equipped. Unforutnately, nature got the best of him. Looks like it happened on International too, which is avi prone even when the place is open. R.I.P. brotha

climbing with two smaller diameter ropes?
castlecrag replied to AJScott's topic in Rock Climbing Forum
Another word of advice...although tempting, don't get suckered into jugging up a single line on one of those things I say that with experience -
