  1. radness dan-o on the crux ridgester what a great climb! its too bad about the accident and i have thought about it a lot the past couple days. I learned that my communication skills are as bad in the mountains as they are in the city and i apologize for kinda taking off. I wanted nothing to do with rapping and when talk of it came up i just kinda took off. I thought you would be fine with all those rap anchors everywhere up there (what a mess by the way, we got some of it cleaned up but theres tons o tat.) Anyways, I shouldnt have left without talking about it first...dan, your a fucking tough dood, that shit had to hurt and you didnt complain once! and even offered to carry "a good amount of weight." Blake is a solid climber and remained super level headed about the situation and organized our rescue perfectly, running ahead and scouting out the trail and hooking up a much needed dinner for us as well! This was an amazing climb.

  3. meh...i saw doods bolting it a little bit ago, and then i drove up about a week ago and it looked like bolts were gone and just the holes remained. really hard to tell from the car though.

  16. Trip: The Brothers - South Couloir Date: 5/6/2007 Trip Report: Had a blast on the Brothers for cinco de mayo, even drank snow margaritas on the summit! Snow starts at the climbers camp and the fire that burned last year affects the climbers trail a little but we stayed on the avalance gully and it was fine. This was the view from the summit when we first arrived... But the clouds parted for our decent thankfully: If you ski the hourglass feature on the way down its a really plumb ski line. Straight from the summit all the way down to the valley. Gear Notes: skis and margaritas

  22. nope, no permits for camping up high. The only place you will get hassled is along the enchantments trail...anywhere up high and you will be good to go.
  23. tons of link up stuff to do in the stuie range...I dont think I could ever run out of stuff to do up there. Dont listen to gary...why you wouldnt want to sleep in the high alpine and do the colchuck lake approach twice boggles my mind! In the summer you hardly have to carry anything to sleep outside anyways... dirtyleaf and I did this linkup over labor day weekend last year. We didnt have a plan for what we were going to climb but knew we had three days in the alpine...could have got it done in two days no prob. started late saturday and cruised backbone...spent the night on dtails summit(great bivy site!) then goofed around next morning climbing all of the dtail spires along the summit ridge over to pandoras box. then dropped down over to colchuck-argonaut col and were guna climb argonaut. decided to do the n.ridge instead and dropped down over to stuart and climbed the lower half sleeping at the mid point on the ridge. One of the best weekends ive ever had in the mountains! enjoy! also...if you go late enough you can avoid carrying ice axe's and crampons as well...
  24. Icelantic These are where it is at! baker locals were going nuts for these planks this winter...
