  1. Adams is like 6600 in 2 days - plus some more pack weight for him. You think the 3700ft/day was/is training enough?

1.) I don’t quite get your rhetoric about the Republicans being fascists. Perhaps you should investigate the meaning of fascism before using the label. 2.) I am not advocating that anyone should vote any way. I am merely pointing out the irony of how the so called ‘Democratic’ party uses Socialist means to choose their candidate. Cool your jets Benny! I think OW is making the point that if you are calling D's socialists, then he can call R's fascists. BTW, your definition: "Socialism is a system where the minority of the people decides." where the hell did you get that from? I think of socialism more in these terms: "Socialism refers to a broad array of ideologies and political movements with the goal of a socio-economic system in which property and the distribution of wealth are subject to control by the community." In which case, yes, the D's arguably lean socialist, but it's a matter of degree.

  8. and practice makes perfect. i have to go through the whole setup every year. there's so many details, it's easy to forget, and you want this to be automatic when you actually need to use it.
  9. I'm thinking of doing a walkup or two with my 10 year old this summer. Has anyone here climbed Adams (S. Spur) with someone that young? How did it go? What kind of hikes/scrambles did you do prior to Adams. My son has done day trips only to date - with up to 3700 foot again and 8-10 miles. It would be cool to pair up with someone else interested in this. Another destination I am considering is Hidden Lake Peaks - bag both summits and camp above the lake. Oh, and Robin/Tuck lakes might work nicely as well.

  11. Shasta is a fun, easy walkup (several routes, actually). It's great in June especially since you can get better weather down there.

Nope. I sure do not watch fox news. Why? that's the typical snide remark from a simpleton liberal who has nothing of substance to say
  19. Moses climbed Mt. Sinai. It's just a walkup but that's cool. How about you?
  20. I suppose that's an improvement over Marc Rich.
  21. Seahawks, what's your favorite climb?
  22. Dude, you're trying to have a discussion with Seahawks.
  23. a simple answer for a simpleton
  24. Wrong, please don't spread your lies. In the article When were the gospels written and by whom?, I demonstrated that Matthew, Mark, and Luke were all written before 70 A.D. Basically, the book of Acts was written by Luke. But Luke fails to mention the destruction of Jerusalem in 79. A.D., nor does he mention the deaths of James (A.D. 62), Paul (A.D. 64), and Peter (A.D. 65). Since Acts is a historical document dealing with the church, we would naturally expect such important events to be recorded if Acts was written after the fact. Since Acts 1:1-2 mentions that it is the second writing of Luke, the gospel of Luke was written even earlier. Also, Jesus prophesied the destruction of the temple in the gospels: "As for these things which you are looking at, the days will come in which there will not be left one stone upon another which will not be torn down," (Luke 21:5, see also Matt. 24:1; Mark 13:1). Undoubtedly, if Matthew, Mark, and Luke were written after the destruction of the Temple, they would have included the fulfillment of Christ's prophecy in them. Since they don't, it is very strong indication that they were written before 70 A.D. Do you climb?
  25. Seahawks: cool. what's on your tick list?
