Well done! I fish with a 6wt, but that's only b/c I never catch anything anyway.

    Git 'em!

ha ha aahhhhahha Oh wait, that includes me.
  4. Hell, I forgot what I brought up. My brain is withering faster than the rest of me.
  5. I give 10% of my gross regardless of the amount of taxes I pay. And as I said, I pay a fair share. When I say we don't pay much, I compare that to Europeans--the ones who actually get the services they pay for under a socialist system.

I love it when women mix metaphors.

Sometimes I think the constant cool-headed response is a little creepy. If you have something to be upset about, let it rip. Anyone who can't handle an occasional (for me, I think bi-yearly or so covers it) freak out from their partner is underequipped. I can handle a good freak out b/c I know when s/he gets done and spins down, things tend to get better and tension is released. Constant drama though is just too much. Maybe I'm just too old and don't have the energy to keep up...

What you are identifying as "drama-free" is only because your drama and their androgynous drama is on the same wavelength, therefore is XORed out. There is still drama to the outside observer, just harmonious drama instead of disruptive drama. I never thought of that.
  15. I don't want you to be offended by this question as I absolutely do not mean it to be dismissive or agressive, but how old are you? Please don't answer if it would bother you--I am only curious as to what point in your life you are in: but no matter how old or young you are I believe your opinions to be valid.
  16. In some cases, government impedes charities (Katrina, for example). I believe that people would give much more to charity absent confiscatory taxes. Also, some people just believe that it IS the government's job to provide these services. I don't see how the gov't presence in N.O. stopped charity from coming in. Various charities may have had to find the gaps that the gov't left or rerouted their help when required to do so, but no one was told not to send aid or open thier homes to Katrina victims. And I don't believe the second post. First of all, as a whole, we don't pay that much in taxes (and this is coming from a person who got to pay 14K just in capital gains in '05). The amount we are taxed should not impact our charity. My family gives 10% no matter what. So do I. I also donate time, clothes, and the occasional canned food item. I have never considered using the fact that I, like most other Americans, pay taxes and therefore have no responsibility to give to charity. Anyone who uses this excuse is not going to have a charitable heart anyway--it is either part of your belief system to help others or it is not.
  17. You are right, a person flipped that switch. And a person actually flew the plane that they are talking about having carried those people to be tortured, yes?
  18. oh, thanksgiving! I think we should start a fat-ass thread so all us chubby people can hang out together. I never feel fat when I am around regular sized people; only when I'm around skinny little folks.
  19. and IBM did more than just make the machines. They made the cards that included very specific catagories for Jews (and other unwanteds) to make the decision of who lived and who died more effective.

why is it only other women agree with this? Oh, actually, I should include androgynous men. I sure enjoy and am attracted to very masculine men, but the ones who are androgynous are the ones I actually fall in love with and get along with. They also seem to be drama-free (or drama-lite--everyone has issues and drama, it's just the matter of degree)

  22. Then why has charity not obviated gov't in the areas where they are most effective?
  23. :lmao:I'm right there with you!
  24. It seems to be a dream that even without proof or example, a lot of folks insist on believing.
