I have a vein that goes right over the distal knuckle (I don't know what that knuckle is called) in my right ring finger. Every now and then, I do something that busts it open and it swells into that knuckle area. It usually takes a week or two to "drain" and the pressure goes away.
The last time I injured it, about two and a half weeks ago, I must have gotten it good. It doesn't seem to be getting better. By now, I figure ice/heat will only do minimal help. Is there anything else I can do to make this heal? The pressure and discomfort in the knuckle has not gotten any better since the third day of the injury.
Also, can I get this vein cauterized or something like that? It is really an inconvenience. It it knocked with every belay move and every hand jam. I'd like to avoid this in the future.
Suggestions?
