  1. yep...last winter was pretty much the shit!! With the added bonus of listening to all the skiing faeries whining... And a nonexistent winter snowpack is great for the environment too. I hear Ford 150s are worse
  2. fart! you sportos don't have any fat to burn!
  3. Beans. I knew it! We need a fart gramelin
  4. D00d! All this rain/snow is likely karma payback for all the shit talking you did last year. Maybe we should burn RuMR at the stake as an offering for no more rain
  5. Mac should roll in between 5 and 5:30... I might be closer to 5:30 (work sux!)... look for some new faces wondering around Newbies: Ivan is TALL and LOUD... should be easy to ID Driving directions appear above.
  6. I miss last winter
  7. It's payback for last winter
  8. Nice pics d00d! If I had a month I would fly south but I guess it comes down to what you get stoked about.
  9. I can likely do Thursday also. Tonight! I count 5 or 6... I might be a little late... Ivan: what time are you showing up? If you have a beater rope that you don't care about and is safe enough to TR on bring it! Also: anybody got an extra hay bail?
  10. Large trigger. I believe the older model might take the regular size. Might be worth taking your tools into a shop and sizing on the spot.
  11. Yeah beeyotches! PDX DT night is world famous... well at least in CAN Get yer butt out to dt night so you can say you attended before all the sponsored climbers starting showing up and it became a scene
  12. Or more likely you would get on the horn and call for a chopper. (EDIT: depending on dislocation) Fun trivia: what is the longest a student went without shitting before they had to be airlifted out with impacted stool.
  13. That would be cool if you could get the strike on there... the way the trigger attaches you can only use it as a finger support and not as a mantle/upper grip position as the bolt piece on the back sticks out. Wazzu: have you tried that? Read about anyone doing that? I heard BD was running low on strikes also...
  14. Not sure but I do know the grivel trigger does!
  15. First round is on me Bill!
  16. Next DT session: Tuesday Jan 10th 5 pm - ??? PM or call me (503.758.5772) if you are attending and if you need to borrow anything. If Tuesday sucks for people I am willing to reschedule or have a second session this week but you need to speak up! Anybody? Bring a headlamp and wear your crappy clothes... it's going to be muddy
  17. Maybe someone should send a link of this thread to the kids at arcteryx... bring back the gamma bib!
  18. Hey Wayne! Do you have any posters kicking around for me to distribute at local shops/gyms to drum up some support? Hey all you married cc.com turds! Put your kitchen pass request form in with your wife ASAP! I don't want to hear any "sorry but I gotta watch Will and Grace with my wife... it's our show" shit. Get out and drink some beer and support a great cause! Roll call! Who be there? All you lurkers! Great chance to meet the local riff raff!
  19. Hey all I should have made it more apparent in my above post but my poke at Will Gadd was unfounded and if anything a tongue in cheek joke about the whole "spurs are aid" movement that Will has championed recently. In addition to making it more clear that I was being sarcastic I should point out (and anyone who M climbs would know) that in the traditional sense of raking... to rake a hold one must keep their calf flexed in order to hang from that hold... yes your hands/forearms are getting a rest but you are still actively working to stay on the route... where as hanging from a spur doesn't require any energy (until you want to get out of it). Though one could use the bionics rake point as a modified spur as I alluded to in the above post the number of holds that would allow this are few and far between... where as with a spur one can hang from just about anything. Again: I was kidding around... my apologies to Will... I hope he understands that here at cc we aren't as PC as other boards and it was just a misunderstanding and that he can stop sending me PMs unless he wants to come on down to PDX for DT night!
  20. I heard a nasty rumor that one of the lead clothing designers at Arc Teryx worked at MEC prior to going to the bird and many of the MEC pieces (including a pair of fleece softshell bibs that look exactly like my gamma bibs) are basically arc teryx with an MEC logo. Perhaps Dru can confirm? I will say the bibs are hella hot... they are polartech 100... I believe all the current arcteryx items sport a lighter version of fleece including the MX pant. I don't use mine that much but I also climb around here mostly and it just don't get that cold. They are the fucking end all hot shit pair of bibs one can buy. I think they still make the Gamma suit that is gamma sv jacket top softshell bottom if you are into full suits.
  21. You and I need to talk. I'll send you a pm.
  22. Check my gallery... should be a few in there. I will dig through my slides at home this week.
  23. Great TR d00d! What is this? A lapse in judgment? Hmmm... michael_layton said: michael_layton said: michael_layton said:
  24. Correct me if I am wrong Jedi but you are looking for insulated soft shell pants... correct? Something that has lightweight fleece bonded to a nylon shell... hence your interest in the Gamma Salopette? Of can it just be stretch nylon with no fleece i.e. scholler fabric? I have a pair of gamma bibs... arcteryx only make them a year. They are basically bib versions of the Gamma Salopette. I also have gamma MX pants, gamma LT pants (old version), and gamma AR pants. I think the later two might be to cold for AK but that kinda depends on when you are going/what you plan to wear under/over them. What temps are you expecting in climbing in? Do you plan on wearing anything over the Salopette?
  25. Wounds to the body are fine with me... it's stuff on the face I am most concerned about/would like to prevent. I found the Petzl face shield thing is plenty for the alpine... when jumping on the super overhung mixed lines I have been using a mouth guard but that seems to limit my breathing. The gladiator might be where it is at.
