  4. Side note: I remember going on my first hiking trip with the Boy Scouts growing up. We hiked around out in the Olympics, and one of the old guys leading us had go dig a pit and bury our trash. Apparently he hadn't been out hiking for a while and didn't know pratices had changed. My dad was also on the hike and he made us go dig it up We didn't do any technical rock climbing, but we bagged a few peaks. Anyway, I appreciate any organization trying to get the kids out doors. I know some of the kids in our troop would have never made it outdoors if they had to rely on their own family to take them out.

In the theme of humor, here is a joke i just recieved in email (excuse the weird formatting): > A successful rancher died and left everything to his devoted wife. > > She was a very good-looking woman and determined to keep the ranch, but > knew > very little about ranching, so she decided to place an ad in the > newspaper > for a ranch hand. > > Two cowboys applied for the job. One was gay and the other a drunk. > > She thought long and hard about it, and when no one else applied she > decided > to hire the gay guy, figuring it would be safer to have him around the > house > than the drunk. > > He proved to be a hard worker who put in long hours every day and knew a > lot > about ranching. > > For weeks, the two of them worked, and the ranch was doing very well. > > Then one day, the rancher's widow said to the hired hand, "You have done > a > really good job, and the ranch looks great. You should go into town and > kick > up your heels." > > The hired hand readily agreed and went into town one Saturday night. > > One o'clock came, however, and he didn't return. > > Two o'clock and no hired hand. > > Finally he returned around two-thirty, and upon entering the room, he > found > the rancher's widow sitting by the fireplace with a glass of wine, > waiting > for him. > > She quietly called him over to her. > > "Unbutton my blouse and take it off," she said. > > Trembling, he did as she directed. > > "Now take off my boots." > > He did as she asked, ever so slowly. > > "Now take off my socks." > > He removed each gently and placed them neatly by her boots. > > "Now take off my skirt." > > He slowly unbuttoned it, constantly watching her eyes in the fire light. > > "Now take off my bra." > > Again, with trembling hands, he did as he was told and dropped it to the > floor. > > Then she looked at him and said, "If you ever wear my clothes into town > again, you're fired."

I'm sorry Sol, but let me be the first to report that this video already made the rounds here at cc.com. Not that isn't extremely funny, but this is so last year. Some things are funny twice though, like that Monty Python street climbing video. Thats funny twice.
  7. i love it that you people living in exile find it your heart back here on cc.com sickie
  8. I believe its been announced in a couple of other threads, but yeah, the express screws are getting an update. I just got the new BD Iceclimbing catalog in the mail the other day. They changed the tooth geometry, added larger crank knobs, and a second clip in point. Checkem out: http://www.bdel.com/gear/turbo_express.php

  18. Ropeup is RAPIDLY APPROACHING. Its weekend after this upcoming one, actually. Jon and I are ordering a couple of kegs of beer which I'll bring up and tap Friday evening. 1. Remember to bring some firewood. I'm going to be hanging out at the campground all weekend with my fecking broken leg, so I want fire dammit. 2. Bring up some food, bring some to share on Saturday night if you can. We should try to have a potluck type deal. 3. Bring some slides to show...and post here if you're going to. I still don't know who is showing...I think Tony Bentley has got something to show...anyone else? 5. Bring something to drink beer out of in case i forget to get plastic cups. 2. Someone is bringing tarps and ropes to put them up with? I can bring Archenemy's tarps again, which I still have from last year. 7. Can some people step up and help me out with this stuff? Organize and what am I forgetting? 4. Can someone put up a few signs on the board at the campground entrance? Gropeup 2007 this Way, etc. 12. I'll be paying for the campground fee. what am i forgetting
