A story was related to me by a outward bound instructor: Two of his fellow guides were hiking down into some alpine meadows from the high country. They apparently supprised two creatures... One broke down into tears at the sight.

Awful smell,..wild hair,...screaming,...sounds like a climber.

you folks might scoff, but I believe in bigfoot. Certain local climbers have had encounters, some of wich are pretty interesting. When one popular local area was being developed," J" was scrambling to the top to install some anchors, was startled by a huge animal crashing off thru the underbrush. Upon his arrival at the top, he was greeted by what he described as a"giant human shit, still steaming..." the fun was just beginning as he had to drill the anchors to get himself down. Laughing,he told me he nearly got the bit stuck because he was looking over his shoulder the whole time!

I have climbed a couple of nice hwy lines.but.I just did not know the legal side of things...

Anybody ever explored the merits of a siphon?
-
Mission:Impossible? We were figuring a belay from the trees above would help a bit. Just a climber and a rope exposed to sight.

What's the deal with the flows along the highway? There are some nice looking lines on hwy 2...

The Rock warrior... 5.10+ R Highly reccomended, I hid a roach in a hueco at the 3rd pitch belay...

Apples work better than spuds. Better tasting too

I fumbled my headlamp on the headwall of Moonlight Buttress. Mcquade was cleaning the pitch and reached out and the thing just tipped off his fingers...sometimes, it's a lonnng way down.

Word. the Centerfold/Davis Holland link up is the shizzle.. How about the Outer space/Davis Holland in a day?

I have a special tool fabricated for cam removal. The thing looks like a nut tool built out of 1/2'' rod stock. It's about 24" long with a 4" hook at one end. The idea is, if you can't tap the lobes forward to retract them, you can bash the thing out! Great for trade routes!

We got a kitty. meow.

A plague upon your land.. next up: insurance telemarketers!

Model Worker- Just another footnote in the history of leaving weird stuff on belays. The Rock Nazis of Red Rocks were fond of German toy soldiers and Hot Wheels. I discovered a "Homie" glued to the 3rd pitch of Tunnel Vision just the other day.

As a climbing high steel rigger, nothing can replace the bowline on the job site. A person does not make friends with his ground man by giving him knots that suck to untie.
-
Pig fixing! My god, I thought it was just a legend! That's why they called it "Model worker"... Orwell, you bastard!

Index so many fine crags, lower town wall, the blues, the country. It's suprising that one of index's most prominent features still is totally unclimbed.. You can see it every time you cross the bridge, plain as day. A modern NW classic, up for grabs. Any ideas?

excellent! A real gain might be one that enriches our life.. a unreal one may be a mechanism that we use to judge ourselves.. "If I could send ..." "when I finally.." "I can't do.." I am guilty.. We all are trying to evolve at the same time, our speeds are just different. We take turns.. Evolution does not always happen slowly, sometimes it is thrust upon us. other times, it seeps up around us like fog,we never noitce, until our vision is obscured.. Maybe our reaction to change is what is inportant in the end.. -

Now,what were we talking about? oh yes, We are afraid to pursue our true potental. falling is failure, sending is success. real gains come only to those who are willing to lose. -
