I have 2:
I met The Bird during a "climbing sale/installation", and he told me his latest project was a blank sandstone canyon he found and drilled routes into it. The walls were 80 feet high, and every move was representative of the grade. A5.10b was a .10b every move, 5.11, 5.12, etc. Great for training!
2. The guy that taught me to climb was the primary partner to Hugh Herr for years , and told some amazing stories about Hugh. Once when he was trying to climb this horizontal roof 20 feet off the ground, but there was no gear, so he set opposing pieces with double ropes to equalize the side-to-side before the roof, then climbing out 10 feet on a horizontal roof, and Z had to sight a path and run when he fell. Which he did.
