I agree. My Metolius cams have taken a pounding, and with some regular TLC, they're right as rain (whatever the hell that means) Seriously, good, stout dependable cams.

Well, I've only got four of em, and they've never given me problems. But I have a full set of Camalots, and I use those most of the time anyway. They are heavy though...

Metolius cams are good. I like mine anyway. I would agree that for a gripped leader, a Camalot is better, due to the expanded range.

Great TR Bronco! Glad you made it out. The only "Epic" I've ever had was losing my pickup for 3 days in Boulder due to excessive partying. (Well, that, and the time I was pinned above treeline in RMNP during a severe electrical storm.)

So like first thing this morning at work, the first thing anybody says to me is "Speak of the devil" referring to me. This don't sound like much, but I have a history with this guy making all sorts of stupid FUCKING COMMENTS EVERY DAMN TIME HE OPENS HIS PIEHOLE, and it just got me off on the wrooong foot. Sometimes I hate the A-holes I work with. Ok, I feel a little better now that I vented.

I had the exact same thought about the fires. I'm kinda glad to find out that I'm not the only one who thinks that.

There's a crag down here that I go to that had a fire scorch the backside of it, and going up to set TR anchors or "walking" down it is pretty treacherous. Some of the climbs are easier than the walk up! Yeah, if it tore through the 3FJ area, that would suck. Fortunately, most of the climbers trail is above the trees. Don't really help the part in the trees, tho.

Who (that travels the ol' Santiam Pass on a regular basis) hasn't thought this was going to happen eventually? It's like matchsticks up there. Still TOTALLY SUCKS to see. Looks like it's burning right through the PCT. Glad I'm not there now! Yikes!
