Hey, the following are a couple short surveys concerning your buying habits when it comes to outdoor gear purchases. The focus of the first survey is on how much you spend on outdoor gear and equipment per year. Please use 2006 as the criteria for your answer. The second survey concerns where you purchase your outdoor equipment. Please focus on the outlet in which you buy the majority of your outdoor gear. If choosing the Other option in the second survey, feel free to post what that other may be. All responses are greatly appreciated, and the more the better. Thanks ahead for taking the time to fill it out. Responses are to be used for a college-level Marketing term paper. , Sol Wertkin

hey i'm trying to post a poll, but i can't seem to figure out how. i read the FAQ concerning polls but I still can't figure out how: "Putting a poll in your post is simple. If polls are enabled, start by creating a new post in a forum. Below the body of your post, you will see a text box that allows you to specify how many polls you want to have in your post and the system will guide you through the rest." are polls not enabled now? thanks for any help.

Is this one of those where bolts come right after cruxy moves? If so, might somebody have been trying to bolt these things in a fashion that prevents climbers from cheating and grabbing a bolt? yeah, bolts right after the cruz, but i think kloke is just a wacko who doesn't take the time to climb or rehearse his routes before he drills away. damn shame what he's doing to Mt. Erie.

the bolted arete just above the p1 anchor offers a harder even more direct approach to the springboard, its bolted a bit funny, but offers good steep exposed climbing.

I climbed the ultimate dissapointment a while back and thought it sucked. lots of 35-50 ft pitches with 1/2 a move of 5.8, and way too much hiking in between pitches. its hard not to identify it as a money maker for the climbing guides in town. with that being said I think its still a bit more entertaining than the squamish buttress. if you want a moderate low commitment route up the chief i would recommend Stairway to Heaven. its not the raddest route around, but you get a nice tour of a number of different crags, a wee bit of sustained climbing, and the pitches above bellygood are pretty damn cool.

Fast Draw on Sentinel Spire, Colorado National Monument. it was originally bolted by some wanker named Layton Kor.

anyone make the third ascent of the dissapearing floor route on hardy yet? that face would be killer in winter conditions when all the kitty litter is frozen.

oh no. are you sure, i thought i had a hernia once but it turned out to be a pulled groin. i have a couple of friends who have had hernia's for months without complications, they just didn't have insurance to pay for surgery. what kind of hernia? i would wait to see the doc cuz you'll save yourself at least $500.

some friends of mine climbed it in early spring mixed conditions and had a great time. proabaly best to approach it when there is still snow on the ground so you won't have to schwack like Jimbo did.
