How would you suggest handling the situation?

I have injured my fingers a few times at the gym (ligament sprains) and was forced to take a few months off at a time. Very frustrating. I notice I go through cycles of interest, moving from cragging to alpine to ice to skiing, redirecting my focus, but still participating in the others. Probably helps keep me from burning out. I still don't get to climb as much as I want.

I have used them, so I guess my 'strong opinion' is justifed. And Charlet S12s have secondary points that will engage the ice or hard snow at a reasonable angle. The G10 doesn't.

Ten point crampons...the secondary points are very far back...you CAN frontpoint on them, but since you cannot rest the secondary points against the ice, it is VERY strenuous.
