you may have noticed a new icon in the "post extras" area of your spray, err computer screen, it looks like this: just like the edit button, this option is only available on the posts that you haver personally authored, or if you are in the upper crust(admin/moderator) of cc.com (i like saying that cuz i like crust). anyhow, what this is a way for you to "highlight" or "publish" your thread so to speak. every now and then we all have a thread that is just magical. whether it is a detailed tr, an fa account, or just a hilarious story, these posts just stand out above the rest, and are talked about for months, sometimes years after they occured (a la amber or muir hut). so think of this as a way to "archive" or keep that post visible for all to see. the mambo it button will allow you to have that post published onto the non message board portion of the site so it will be easier to find by future generations of sprayers, or by those who don't surf the site everyday. example... i mamboed the reid headwall tr cuz i thought it was tasty, and had lots of eye candy... i think you get the idea. so if you have a post that has class, mambo it. ?'s pm me

i just saw a gent in uniform at fred meyers with his young baby and his wife. it really took me aside for a second, as I hadn't had any face to face interaction with the possiblity of war. when i watch the news, there is somewhat of a distance between myself and the reality of what may come to happen, this distance is compounded by the fact that i live in BFE central oregon. but seeing a young father, around my age, who was getting ready to leave kind of woke me up, so to speak. a few other guys from work have gotten activated as well.

maybe texplorer would want to be the moderator of that forum

indeed, i was up near three creeks lk/tam mcarthur over 2 weeks ago, not alot o freshiez to deal with. we have some clouds moving in from the south, but its only supposed to bring about 2'' new in the chosscades travel advisory: watch out for hordes of suv wanking washington gapers descending on the central oregon region this weekend. the signature washington gaper will be in nissan x-terra's with rocket boxes on top, and assorted outdoor stickers emblazoned on the rear of the vehicle. use caution when encountering such a beast on the road, they are generally orenery and have been known to accidentally spill soy late on their laps and loose control of their vehicles.

i got an email from a long time bend folk, i suppose, and the name of the crag is Cougar Bluff, first developed in the mid 70's (gapertimmy had yet to arrive on god's green earth ) and routes range from 5.easy to 5.12c

Actually the unix epoch is jan 1 1970 GMT, but since this board is running PST the epoch (time stamp of 0) is actually displayed as Dec 31 1969 4:00PM. unix stores its internal time as GMT and displays the correct time zone based on the TZ variable. i stand corrected -8 hours! YEAH UNIX TIMESTAMP!
-
trask actually doesn't have a reg date since his profile got jacked up on the old system, sooooo, he is defaulting to a unix timestamp of 0, thus we all know of course the unix time stamp starts back in good ol 69 discuss unix time stamp and its intrinsic values when coding php

the world can never have too many message boards

indeed tasty, if you look close on one of those picts you can see me sitting in my office working on cc.com sounds steep, but was it as steep as the first descent of bunny col on bachy? i think not.

skyliners road.... the easiest way to get there would be to pretend you are going to bachelor, at the last round a bout on century drive (intersection with washington) aka the SEX circle with the really bad compass art, go north (take a right), the first stop sign you come to is Skyliners road, go left towards the hills, keep driving, the road eventually crosses bridge creek, becomes a dirt road, go left (gate is closed right now), crags are about 1 mile up on the right side, can't miss them. there are some other small bolted sport routes further down the drainage closer to shevlin park. these are a bit more hidden then the aforementioned crags, but if you want to directions pm me.

nah i agree, it can hang, and word on the search improvements, i think the crashing was related to some hardware issues, or so the host claimed.

no way dooood, mysql just can't handle the spray. either that or its my shatty coding. funny though our host kindly asked us to move away from the cgi based forum script to a php/mysql one, claiming it woudl be more stable... and how many times has the db server crashed? imho, i still think its faster/more stable than the old script

This past weekend (last thursday for me) i took chubfatnook on a stroll up the bridge creek road towards tumalo falls. For those not familiar, its the trail at the end of Skyliners road, west of bend, where Phil's Trail and other fun distractions live. When i first moved here, i heard that there was cragging to be had up on the rox overlooking the bridge creek burn area, so chinook and i went and checked it out. GRID BOLTERS GONE WILD from the road by the creek, i only saw one glistening rap bolt on the crag above but when i got up there, oh man, it was like a little slice of Vantage in my own back yard. i'm not the best at judging grades, but there seemed to be numerious moderate pitches that i could gumby up, and some more scary looking sheat that i would flail on, for what thats worth. there is also an "upper" crag area that boasts some ok looking cracks that would take pro, all in all it looked pretty nice. has anyone cragged around up here before? i'm hoping to get back up there with homey cletus and do some exploring, i'll post some picts soon as well... my favorite is the bolt that is a mere 10'' off the ground looking west towards the crags at the base of em gt
