  1. exactly CBS! It will be interesting to see what happens to Paul Oneil.
  2. Happiness is a warm gun, eh Trask.
  3. I feel the same way Muffy. I trust the local political process and my community because I have access to the people and see how they live, and I interact with them. I trust them even tho I might completely disagree with them, because I know them.
  4. Exactly Tinkerbell. Kind of dovetails on what CBS was saying and Scrambler was referring to. The social contract of this country has outgrown this country and we need to let it evolve and quit hoarding it. It will change into something different to be sure but the fruit is rotting on the vine. Seems kind of selfish to keep it all to our self and finger printing all "outsiders" who wish to come visit. Kind of goes against the spirit of the thing.
  5. I agree Scrambler. A unifying concept will be hard to come by and even harder to wrap our heads around.
  6. Doctorb you bring up a good point; this is the underlying impulse of nationalism.
  7. Yeah, were are all related unless you come from another planet but even then there would be some close links
  8. Riffraff.? Oh you mean the poor, uneducated people that make less money than me...?
  9. Why, 'fraid to lose your myth?
  10. I hope this picture is going to be in good taste Trask
  11. No, I hold no allegiance to some governing body full of people I do not know. Give me one good reason...
  12. "Partriotism" is the anachronistic rallying cry of nationalism. GET OVER IT. This is one planet and we are all family. If we don't start owning our reality, we are going to end up eating each others children
  13. Reinstate the man already
  14. always stirring the pot, eh Ehmmic
  15. That reminds me, I have to drop the kids off at school...
  16. HAHAHAHAH that's hilarious, and it is installed backwards! Still wouldn't solve the problem, just make it less frequent.
  17. Hey, at least they change the roll. How many people here experience the roll on the top of the toilet syndrom? What, the person before just didn't have the time to change the empty out Afraid of technology are we?!?!?!?!? I just thought the "ANAL" was pertinent to this poo thread there...
  18. Don't you think that's a bit anal Trask?
  19. Instead of pooing on Gary's thread, I should have been over here
  20. Sorry to poo on your thread Gary Money for the climbing club is a cool thing
  21. It is what it is. Social darwinism, greed and power. Don't fool yourself. Vote with your dollars, live YOUR life. Be heard...
  22. There's no such thing as a free lunch If it is drinks too, then you are getting or giving
  23. Good thing I did or I might not have the life I do now, which I happen to like very much. I guess I had to derange my senses to a certain degree to realize that I did not have to do what I "thought" I had to do. Overcoming an overbearing father was quite a chore. I really didn't find school particularly challenging, perhaps because I was not interested in what they had to offer and perhaps I did not know myself yet. So, the lesson, if you can call it that, is KNOW THYSELF. If you like rain, B'ham. Dry, Ellensburg. If you want to climb, camp 4...
  24. That was refreshing. Thanks
  25. Not necessarily. Academics are not everything. True, I choose a less academically respected school in Ohio than the one I got accepted to in Pennnsylvania because the drinking age in Ohio was 18 at the time. And look where it got me.... If you want rock climbing, go to CU Boulder. Move there, change your drivers license, register to vote and get a job for six months and voila, in-state tuition. There are other benefits to going to school there but that is beyond the scope of this thread...
