It just sucks to hear of them being picked off in these isolated attacks. In a battle, you expect people to die. In this mode of "rebuilding" though, you figure that the killing is over, and they can focus on the task at hand. Instead, we hear of them buying a can of coke and being shot at point blank range. That's so messed up.

Me and the missus will be there August 4th - 10th. It's just us right now...no partners. Btw, we used Pilgrim Tours to hook us up with paperwork, and airport transfers. Good service so far. We went for our Russian visas this week to the consulate in Seattle. They took our passports, application, and money, and told us to come back next Tuesday...no receipt or anything. They assure us our passports are safe.

I was in Olympia yesterday, and I always seem to remark to myself that it's a really nice wee town. Which begs the question, which is the best town / city in the Northwest? I suspect this'll degenerate into a "your town sux" thread but what the hell. Any opinions on Olympia?

There was a long long line of buff women with short haircuts as far as the eye could see. That's the first time I've felt a wee bit threatened by a large group of women.
