    God Loves Obama

Shhhh, not so loud please...Bush was saying the same thing 8 years ago and was projected to lose as well close to election time...shhhhhhh quietly please...don't go tempting unseen forces to toss it back in your face...it's true I don't like either party this run, but 8 years of McCain-Palin ......... shhhhh........
  2. but again, the guns out there aren't checking or balancing a damn thing, like joe said - the 82nd airborne can probably take on every gun-nut in the country together and come out just fine, no? You mean like the entire Wehrmacht against a handful of Jews in Poland? Doubtful the 82nd airborne would do that against their brothers and sisters. I'd look to any banana republic that has banned guns as a role model for the potential without them.
  3. It has nothing to do with self defense for me and everything to do with balance of powers. Checks and Balances. Strictly for political reason....for me. BTW, I don't disagree that Barak will not be better than the alternative. There's no doubt to me that Barak doesn't have a lot going for him. He's extremely talented in many areas, with lots of positive charcteristics. I still find him hugely lacking.
  4. It's interesting in that when interviewed or polled, most Americans feel that some "Terrorists" are our biggest enemies, yet China and Russia are still global players internationally - and not really our "Buddies". In fact, Communist China has proclaimed for home consumption that they will forcibly annex Taiwan within the next few years. Hmmmm....
  5. Biden didn't say Terrorists at all. He said "Like John Kennedy". Kennedy was looking at the literal end of the world as it was a potential total nuclear war with the Soviets. That's what Biden is talking about. Like he says: "MARK MY WORDS". Pretty startling and surprising as Biden is a pretty savvy guy generally. full quote: " "Mark my words, it will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America...Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.""
  6. Time will tell if Obama is an honest politician. I suspect he has enough weasel words in his policy statements that much like the Bible, it can be interpreted any way you'd like. Here's the link for now if you want to see the PDF of that policy. Link And one that contradicts it: Urban Policy "Address Gun Violence in Cities: As president, Barack Obama would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn't have them. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets."
  7. That's not true according to his literature. I'll look for a link. My thoughts: To those who want the gov't to control weapons. I'd ask you to look around at the people you know...your neighbors and climbing partners...the question is: do YOU trust them more than you trust the President? If the answer is yes, then consider how you feel about them having weapons and control vs just the current "great leader" or the next "great leader". Bottom line for me: A) Political power can and does come from weapons (look around the globe for examples). B) I trust my fellow citizens (that's pretty much all you, even the assholes on this site) more than I trust the power hungry people who often run for office. I want all of you to have weapons to provide a check and a balance on those other assholes. Simple choice for me.

  9. My old climbing partner missed getting in my group and is interested in joining a Meadows 4 x 4 pass group.... anyone need a person? Very reliable.
  10. Sounds to me like you need to do this Mark. Stop at the German white wine section and buy any bottle of Reisling that says "Auslese" (special picking) or "Spatelese" (late harvest). Could be any brand, but it will be marked with that on it. Chill it and drink it. Brown bottles are Rhein (if you see Rheingau or Rheinhessian on the label that's the better Rheinish areas and generally better than the green which are Mosel areas. Could go much deeper into this, but that will get you started. PS, on the German white wines, try to buy one that is laying on it's side and has little dust on it. Standing upright for any length of time isn't a good thing.
  11. You should go do it Kev.
  12. don't click the link on Crackers post! don't click the link ! don't click that link ! Glad she's doing so well. Lots of stainless and stiches. Sick pic if ya click the link. Glad you got some rays in before the long winter rain comes. Is that Lions Jaw...Kunza Corner...?
  13. Ditto, nice call Jim. Additionally, although Repubs are "suppose" to be fiscally conservative, there has been little evidence of any of that in the last 3 repub admins. Even McCain doesn't make much of a pretense of making it a big issue. Clinton showed it however, and got the budget back in balance. Also, WTF is up with about every damn repub trying to get into our personal lives all the time? How about they balance the budget and get off our ass's and out of our personal lives?
  14. Of course....Cough * cough* well...it didn't work for Al Gore, so no...hmmm, wait: I guess that it did work for Geo W Bush however, so yes, I guess I have to agree with you after all as you are correct once again Komrade Prole! :-)
  15. Don't know how I missed this until now....sweet!
  16. IMO, this is the root of power in keeping the other amendments and rights on the table for you. ___________________________________________________________ ps, voted Libertarian, Bob Barr. And Trash I didn't vote for Carter or Reagan either, picked a 3rd party. I don't recall who it's been that long. Turned out that as I was driving to the polls after work, all 3 major networks called it over for Carter and gave it to Reagan.
  17. Love the pics! (Got more Zod pics underworld?) Hey- Except for Ivan's massive weight, please tell me there was there a solid upwards piece?!
  18. Now now, be careful, you know what often happens right after a person is caught saying something like that....
  19. Assclown? Grow the F-UP? Speaking only for myself, your continual and unwarranted personal attacks are old, tired, unnecessary and angering. You should really consider how you talk to people. I'm looking forward to having a face to face discussion with you about this. I don't recall treating you with such disrespect and I don't appreciate it in return.
  20. I believe that may be your best post ever, but you may change your mind when you read this: Link ps, my son is home from college this weekend so I'm staying home to visit but wind up on CC.com. Who knew kids can sleeps so late in the day?
  21. I'd like to pitch this to all you many Obama ass kissers on this site. Kevbones poll is running @77% for Obama, 23% McCain. (It doesn't reflect those like me who don't want either.) I can't vote for the man. No way. I feel that one of my biggest points of opposition to him hasn't been covered except minimally in the media, this is something I want you fanatic Obama lovers to consider. If you were to hire a person to be President. You would look at the job criteria and then look for a person who had done jobs with the kinds of skills you were looking for. A person with a successful history and track record of actually doing that kind of work. When Jimmy Carter was against Ronald Reagan, both of those fellows had long track records of running states as governors. Furthermore, Carter had deep and extensive comparable experince that transferred over well. He had been a commander on a nuclear sub under Chester Nimitz (known as the man who modernized the Navy and who had impeccable organizational skills), AND Carter ran a relatively large family farm that reflected skills that bordered on being the CEO of a big business. Both men had ACTUAL experience doing a smaller version of the job they were "interviewing" for. Obama doesn't have anything close to this. AT ALL! I suspect that many of you are like me. You don't like McCain, and see Obama as a better choice. This may be true, but is a terrible reason to hire a person. When McCain was 5 points up, I offered to bet that Obama would win the election. I found some folks who liked the odds and bet on McCain. I'll do well $ that way if Obama gets elected. However, I have a very very deep suspicion that we, that's you and me my countrymen, are so fucked once he gets in. We can all "HOPE" that the CHANGE he talks incessantly of offering will be positive, but it is like "believing" in the tooth ferry and Santa Claus. It's a "belief" you can have, which has no basis in truth and reality. Think of this, George Bush had significantly BETTER credentials AND a strong track record of being able to collaboratively move a state forward, of being able to hire strong and intelligent people to key posts and taking advice from experts coming in as president: key skills which Barak glaringly lacks ever exhibiting. That's right, I'm saying it here, Bush's track record was SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER coming in! Where did that get us? Bushes approval rating is 14% now. What this lack of ever doing any of this kind of work may very well mean is that Barak just sucks at it, and cannot do it, which is why he never has done it and has no track record of ever even trying this kind of thing. Being a community organizer and a senator for 2 years doesn't qualify him, even after 8 years a s a state senator. John Kerrys MANY years AND being the head-cheese on a Swift Boat did. You (the 77% on this site who love Barak so) just don't know this yet, but appear to want to find out by trial and error on the job training in what may be a Dante Inferno version of bad choice good faith guessing. Someone I'd relayed this too explained their support of Obama this way: "Obama is like and internet stock, you might be on the ride of your life to the moon, or you might crash and burn hard". God I hope I'm wrong about this, but cannot shake the feeling or ditch the thought that it's about to turn real bad, real soon. We are so fucked. Read it and weep my brothers.
  22. Really? I just went on Obama's website and looked up his stance on gun control. It says he believes that the 2nd amendment provides private citizens with a right to bear arms. "He will protect the rights of hunters and other law-abiding Americans to purchase, own, transport, and use guns." Link This is a recent change to his thinking, back when McCain was up 5 points. Obama came out in support of the Supreme court decision to support the right to own handguns VS Washington DC on a case involving right to carry in DC. The previous 12 votes he voted to restrict, which reinforced his public stance as well. This may be why the NRA gives him and F and not an F- on this instance. BTW, I agree with Scott. I feel that having the public bear arms gives teeth to all the other "rights" like the "right" to a free press etc etc. Of course in keeping with the tenor of this site, let me preemptively say, like everyone else does, that anyone who doesn't agree with my view is a dumb, stupid motherfucker with the brains of a pissant and no intelligence at all and can go fuck off in advance of them saying so.... have a nice day. Truthfully, I do not like either of them, and will write in Ron Paul as a protest vote.
  23. Hah ha! Probably could have avoided that had he just turned the hearing aid up:-)
  24. Screw them: that's a well reasoned and thought out post right there.
  25. Bev Johnson...Dihedral Wall. That woman had stones.
