  1. nice man. I got to admit, I had no idea what bases were made out of. I just knew it wasnt p-tex. as for being happy? no, we are still in a masssive snow drought. can you fix that too?
  2. Im not gonna be there; but Id love to get a brew sometime with you guys.
  3. gaper timmay jinx...its puddering out. from the title, i thought maybe you got yer PMgear bro models. Damn, I really want to fondle them. Jan 28th free ski day at Bachey!! I think im there.
  4. Chuck's trying to do his part. Hoodoo's park is so ultra-core with this new pond feature.
  5. The other was at Las Vegas Ski Bowl, 13 year old snowboarder got blown off the lift by the dust cloud. rip.
  6. finally got the vid to work on my POS computer, no sound. Nice pics too. Very nice
  7. Ive been trying to trim it down... LIFTS/alpine- Volant Spatulas 190 Fischer 106's 200 Iggie FGS 190 miller softs touring- 186 Dynastar Legend Pro's 180 Fischer 106's glad you like the Arno's CJ.
  8. always up for some Santiam PAss yo-yoin' --it's just now getting filled in. I'll be there Wends-thurs with a friend. shoot a pm -->if your up for some super huge gnar
  9. anyone know how long you are allowed to park, if at all, in the non-snopark pullouts like atop Santiam or Will. Passes?
  10. Could it be this new Hardcore Swedish Gangsta Rap movement that is causing all the hate between the B.C. crusties and the park rat jibbers??
  11. Funny, Id say Boulder is no Bend--> 250" in a oct-april ski year, sketch snowpack, big crowds and Texans vs. 450", nov-july, bomber pack, no crowds and Californians. Apples and oranges. edit--Cj, have you had a chance to ski your Arno's yet--how did ya like em?
  12. Nothing wrong with Bend, but Sunriver is closer. edit- I want to live in Sunriver someday. Newbery and Will Pass a hour south, 20-25 min. to Bachey. But Im kinda locked in here trying be a organic farmer/rancher.
  13. The term flats is relative. Im thinking if your cant turn without stoping or slowing greatly, its flat. We need to hook up next time im over there, cause Im usually talking the trail of tears (flat) or cutting over early and hitting the bottom bit of the groomer that I consider flat (and very hard to deal with on spatulas). edited cause it seemed agressive.
  14. I should not imply fault either, cause that was a crazy storm; but I hope they have learned somthing, and I think they should of and could of been more on top of it. Its obvious that there are slide paths outta the bowl/cirque and down thru that area. Just check out Bruce Jackons "the summit" print and the difference in the size of trees. edit-- on second thought, Im no avie scientist, just a geology student..so as I think about this, im thinking snow can load so fast and change so quickly that we cant do a thing about it and this shit happens...nutty.
  15. progression. Aidan sez it how it is, very well put young blood, keep it up. All except the racer thing, just watch Bode.
  16. I havent been aware of bachelor admiting any fault. I do think it is pretty pathetic to have a natrual slide of that magnitude, no matter what time in the day at a resort during the operating year. Sadly inbounds slides are not uncommon around here-> Hoodoo's backside slid out natrually 2 years ago, 20' deep deposits on the getback trail.
  17. I thought Paul Parker was Spider man. As for the Ticket, I'd be afraid of blowing out a edge on a asym. pair of skis and not being able to switch. on the otherhand I am really curious if the benifits outweight that problem. I think it was Dynastar had a pair of aysm skis 5 maybe 7 years ago, they were black, but I think it was just the make-up/thickness of the ski that was aysm, not the sidecut. Telefest at Hoodoo this weekend, suposed to be lots of free demos.
  18. I think snowboard companys need to start making the heel-side edge look like this ^^^^^^^^^ so as they scrape it clean, it becomes a nice, although extreamly narrow, groomer.
  19. Suskan Arm, south/north back, and Aplental BC is all pretty gnarl big mountian terrain. I think when people say "big mountian" they are refering more to the type of terrain than anything else. Size does matters to a extent but not as much as quality of terrain. I was reading a old POWDER interview with Scott Gaffeny and he was saying that his fave terrain to shoot is small-big mountain-- short vert in big mountian style terrain.
  20. maybe I should re-fresh before I post!! or take less that 45 munites to reply. Agreed on Will pass joe mack. SDN, White Russians, Dragons Back, hike West Peak....Will PAss gives up the goods.
  21. There is no need to compare what-so-ever, its apples and oranges--> I just found the comments rather funny. My fave ski area is the one I am at on that paticular day..I dont care, skiing is fun, PERIOD. I am by no means trying to say that Hoodoo or Will Pass is better than the Bachelor. I just think that on some days when the snow is good they can be just as fun, and maybe give you some things that Bachelor cant, like cliff drops. I think Bachelor is the shit on sunny warm spring days--the best corn skiing. Such a great crusing mountian. Nothing better than 6-7 minute laps on Pine Martin at 3:45. But I have to disagree with you continuous comment Iain, the bottom of every lift, expecially NW and outback is a flat runout that sucks total ass in slow snow.
