Then you can use that with a hammer head for a wicked alpine tool when going up and over where there is more snow than ice. I think BD don't make them any more While you've got the saw out look at how the wide part of the adze gets in the way too when your hand is on top.

I think that they have the best deals on down & good basic fleece though. I have a pile jacket from 1989 that I thrash on and it's still in one piece. Just about needs its third zipper... A fiend of a friend (seriously) worked there and they were told that in warranty cases and returns "the customer is wrong"

I got a wicked deal on them so I went out on a limb and splurged - one for AT and one for tele. That should be one pair... I went on the good reviews and the wicked price mostly, but I don't thinkl I am going to be dissapointed.

Here's one for Anna. Might be too big for an avatar though... "water" bomber [ 10-20-2002, 11:20 PM: Message edited by: snoboy ]

Just on the ground though I've flown with the FIFT crew though in the Goose and a couple of their helis. Their pilots rock. All the Goose pilots are Mars certified too, and the Mars pilots are their own mechs, talk about a qualified bunch. The flight deck on the mars is about the size of my living room and kitchen and I can stand up in the wing.

I can see ice smears freezing up on the bluffs across form town above the river. Wonder if A Scottish Tale is coming in or not. No snow yet but ice in Oct? Ahh well, it'll probably all fall down as it's supposed to 22 degrees tomorrow. Best Autumn in ages.

Oh, I know what you mean. I actually think the BP beer is not that great except for a few select brews, try the Rye Ale... But they are 20oz pints, and that is what we are trying to talk about here.

Go to England or Ireland and a pint of the dark stuff will equal 20 oz. Or the Brew Pub in Squampton. They have Real Pints too.

Kong GiGi vs New Alp Plaquette vs Reverso?

Here are my thoughts: None of them work good on a low anchor. The Reverso can be hard to pull a lot of fat rope thru fast. Guide friends say it contributes to elbow problems <wahmbulance>. I've seen them wearing out quick on the edge just above the petzl logo. We don't have 2 versions yet but we've got 2 colours! I wouldn't go back to the Pyramid/GiGi rig. The B-52 looks great. I've never even seen one though. Make sure you know how to unload them in case yer buddy gets beaned by a rock. I'm gonna stop thinking now, and go back to work. -

My complaints with the reverso: 1) too skinny for fat ropes 2) too wide for skinny ropes. 3) CLANK CLANK CLANK ... ... I should have said "never even _fondled_ one" 1&2 sum it up. Does that mean it is just right for "skinny Fat ropes"? Seriously, what do people find the best size rope with the Reverser? I never seem to hear it CLANKing over the hexes though. -

I'll try and get some real OR photos up if I ever get to see them (friend took them). I bet she would take the TOYO through if it wasn't hers...

And then when I blew out the sole of my shoe no-one else would put a rope on anything so we went and ate ice-cream instead. At least I didn't have to pay for that too. What a bunch of losers I went climbing with this chick once and all she did was constantly dis everyone else she knew yada yada yada too bad we're not all perfect like her I was out with this surly brunette that weekend, and all she did was glare at me.

quote: Originally posted by Dru: Then the Mog ran out of gas near Squamish and it was discovered the tire was flat too. Probably from sharp things in the alder thicket and wailing over the bumps. Anyways we had to walk back to his house and get my Ru and a gas can and go get the Mog so he could drive it home. So what yer saying is that you needed a Ru to rescue a Mog? I'd always heard they were good cars.

I've noticed that too. I was in a cave the other day and I couldn't see 3 feet in front of me, with that? I agree that the tikka isn't super bright. Like I said before, "If you need halogen, get halogen." I just think it is the best of the little lights.

With two LED bulbs, kinda looks like a little demon on your forehead. Bad thing (maybe not) is that it runs on a 6 volt small round battery. How easy is it to find these? Supposed to run for 14 hours on this battery. Let's see, you're not sure how hard it is to find these batteries? Doesn't that tell you something???
