  1. His daughter is all dressed up in that "female wrap" they force them to wear over there. I think they should take her away from them for abuse.
  2. Call me crazy, but wouldn't the fact that they already HAVE $100 million mean they're ALREADY doing well? HAHA...sorry, I should have pointed out that I *changed* the quote to what Mr. McCaw really meant. It originally said something like for all people to do well his huge business had to do well or something like that. What is really sad is folks like Bill Gates are now supporting Bush. I remember reading some stuff a few years back about how he actually voted with his brain and not his pocketbook and supported liberal causes. It's sad to see he has now put the anti-trust suit and money above all else.
  3. Simple, convert to an inherently sexist religion (islam works well) and marry a woman of that religion. Unfortunately it has the side effect of getting picked up for terrorism charages. http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/West/05/20/spain.bombings.lawyer.ap/index.html

The more debates...the better for Kerry. Bush can't string together a coherent sentence when it's in a pre-written speech. It comes out even worse when he has to..uhh...think...on his feet.
  5. Wow! Billionaires supporting Bush, ya don't say! "I would say the conundrum is that for all people with net worths in excess of $100 million to do well in the country, American businesses have to prosper again," said cellphone pioneer Craig McCaw.
  6. Yeah, and one of the dead was a 63 year old woman. From eveything I have read when everest cooperates (and you get dragged up) things go easy aside from the physical challenge. When shit goes a little wrong, things go downhill real quick. Not much room for margin at that altitude.
  7. Duh...good point. BTW, do they have plans to fix the road?
  8. Please if anybody happens across any other info on this accident post it. I am looking and can't find anything. Is there a whatcom county SAR that could have info???
  9. Snagging a crampon on a tired stumble down from a tough summit is always one of my biggest fears. This is why if the snow conditions allow I will always stop to take the crampons off. They can sometimes do more harm than good...
  10. So do they really fog up less than your glacier glasses? I get real hot easily and sweat quite a bit so I always fog up sunglasses or glacier glasses, it really sucks. You are saying these things, tho being fully enclosed fog up *less*?? If so I'm buying 'em.
  11. Some of the climbs up near Lake Chelan are more easily done with the "lady of the lake" water taxi. You can do goode and logan that way, but I think you are way better off walking the extra miles and going in via highway 20. Bonanza peak is probably easiest from Chelan too.
  12. Cytomax Cytomax nasty ass chit. I used it once and notice that some had leaked out of my water bottle and the caused the paint to peel. Accelerade, now on sale at Supergo $7 for a large container. Where (and what) is supergo?
  13. HAHAHAHA Oh man, that is a good one! I get it, so you see that, cause you have him blocked, so like, your joke is to say "well, it's like cracked is posting that!" Oh man, I am dying here!
  14. Hehe...well, yup, sometimes it doesn't need much. I climbed Sahale during a minor showstorm with tennis shoes. There was about 5" of snow on the glacier. My feet got wet, but it worked out
  15. Ugh...soooo heavy tho...
  16. I am just wondering where you get the idea that public management of our forest lands is worse off than private management. I am talking the entierty, not just the subset for logging. On public lands we have parks, wilderness, etc. if all those lands were private they would be torn down for logging. It simply isn't true that companies will respect the land and the environment unless they are regulated by the government to do so.
  17. Example please. PETER...EXAMPLE PLEASE.
  18. Example please.
  19. Yeah, hozzomen is definitely one that would be a major pain in the ass wihtout the boat. Some of the others you can just walk a little farther
  20. Bonanza is on lake chelan not ross lake. you will have to be more specific, there are lots of peaks you can take the water taxi to, depending on the approach you want to do. Davis? Hozomeen? the north pickets?
  21. the "risk" in that quote doesn't nescessarily mean a risk of death. It means (in my opinion) a risk of failing at trying something. By all means it's a risk to try climbing a bit above your level, but I by no means think that the risk of possibly dying by trying it is what gives people their "high." When I see "extreme" sports people on TV (like how the fuck is bunjee jumping extreme or a sport?) I dont buy the shit about it being so cool because there is a risk you might die. Human instinct goes against that. They said that cause it sounds cool.
  22. Climbing can be SCARY. I don't get my thrills from scaring my self shitless. If I did, I would solo everything. I mean, why not? It's not like it's *good* to fall when you have a rope, so most of us don't. Given that, why don't I just solo everything and my kicks that way? No thanks, I'm there to push my limits in terms of physical and mental challenge and do everything I can to make sure if I fail that I have the best chance of not dying because of it.
  23. It is kind of ironic considering conservatives are the ones all about banning free speech when it's "unpatriotic"
  24. I always find my experience in the mountains is more pleasent when I go right from roadhead to skiing.
