  1. The issue is not really your degree of acculturation but your failure to acknowledge that people's ability to feed themselves properly depends on many factors out of their control, which includes their being aware that it is possible and desirable. pray tell how you comprehend the mind of the fat man better than me, who ain't that far from the honorific anyhow? I fail to see how i need to comprehend the mind of the fat man to know that my ability to feed myself properly would be seriously put in question if I came from say an exploded family in the poor inner-city environment. i have suggested several solutions. I am not 100% sure they are entirely good ones but they suggest an approach that is showing success in other domains like tobacco (although I do agree with you that some rules appear too intrusive, smokers should be able to smoke at the beach if they want to) I have a hard time believing you are being serious.
  2. actually i was answering JayB but this new version of software doesn't show it and you posted before I did. Paranoid much?
  3. dude, do you really want me to issue a full report with my policy proposals or will general remarks about common sense measures already in wide application for other products suffice? hmmm...
  4. more FREEDUMB from the pretend civil liberty advocate who wants to surcharge the obese even though they may be more victims than compulsive over-eaters.
  5. denialism too, now? hypertension is only one condition CAUSED by high salt intake. Jeebus! what terrible logic. I am not sure why I bother. Not only the money could be spend on a prodcutive investment like education, instead of fixing up people for whom there is unfortunately too often little hope (like putting a fucking band-aid on an open sore) but i doubt many people have the pocket money to pay the 10-100ks associated with major hospital stays (let's not even talk of the impact on the infrastructure or personnel) drivel because education, information, regulations and taxation aren't concrete policy proposals? they are so far left, the Democratic party often advocate them, fuckwit. clearly little on this topic.

  7. it's an important part of the equation for many obese people even if you have no clue. btw, nobody but the free market zealots claimed obesity only resulted from overeating. $200 billions per year in additional health care costs is only the tip of the iceberg of what's to come when youth that is currently obese grows older. Getting fat during old age isn't isn't the same as creating thousands of additional fat cells while growing up. there is abuse of some foods, which is bad for people and there is bad food that has deleterious effect on your body in any quantity (pretty much). Your ignorance won't change any of it. Yeah, right, what a couple more glasses of alcohol everyday. Sheesh. Also note there is issue with more than just obesity. Eating salt up the yingyang is as certain to kill you as overeating. you are such an ignorant blowhard that it hurts.
  8. it figures that a know-nothing retard like you would pretend to reduce complex socio-economic processes to a budget equation.
  9. that is a significant minority. I was talking to a nurse today who said a study suggested ~25% of obese had no food abuse problem.
  10. Is this your excuse? FAIL I don't need any excuses to point out that the same Bush voters who cheered the worst of his policies now claim to be against what they cheered at the time.
  11. all smokers smoke but not all obese folks have a junkfood abuse issue.
  12. I called him a wingnut after he came out blowing steam about the gulag and "Big Government" as he is accustomed to doing. He is a wingnut. it's an indication of their reliability.
  13. the only solution they offered was to put an insurance premium on all obese patients, a significant fraction of which do not have a food abuse problem. FREEDUMB!
  14. here comes the thug
  15. typical wingnut non-response: big on ad-hom, nonexistent on relevant content.
  16. that's rich coming from someone who elected the administration responsible for the patriot act, torture, the unitary executive, multiple unnecessary wars, etc ..
  17. You seem to be suggesting that the gov't step in and do something yes, he is suggesting that government as the instrument of the people step in to protect the public interest, including the content of your wallet that you seem always so concerned about when you call for tax cuts or oppose fair tax increases.
  18. people didn't suddenly become fat slobs in the 80's all of their own
  19. another choice reply from Attila!
  20. they claim that you want to coerce people because they are perfectly happy with the current state of laissez faire.
  21. and Don Quixote keeps fighting the ferocious giants of prohibition ...
  22. right, just keep conversing as if your interlocutor wasn't a bully who needed to have his head examined for sociopathic tendencies.
  23. fucking coward still has only personal attacks. He now feels the need to smear my person several times a day out of context. Talk about whining/demented behavior, sheesh.
  24. Funny how so many people stopped controlling their appetite in the 80's. Was it a virus or the flourishing economy under Reagan? ROTFL
  25. just to be clear: fat, salt and/or sugar are most often necessary ingredients of cooking but they shouldn't overpower everything else like it is the case with the overwhelming majority of commercial fare.
