lust passes but not love

not adequately, let's disclose all industry practices we also need better regulations of industry practices (safety and environment), and protection of children, possibly a tax on junk food advertising for added health care costs.
-
it alwasy comes down to t.v. and commercials for you, which is wierd, 'cuz you don't seem the tv-watching type. What people do is relevant and most of them watch commercial tv and we know that commercial advertising works.
-
the only one who is going to STFU is you and you know it.
-
your belief that it is easy to unplug the boob tube is clearly not supported by the evidence around us.
-
nobody said they wanted to do that kids aren't exactly full customers yet and the family institution is in bad shape. Health care costs won't survive the epidemics of obesity. Ignoring it won't make it go away. We could also have dealers pushing stuff while we at it.
-
Classic strawman. Nobody argued for sanctioning people who eat junk food. Nor did anyone here argue to sanction drug users.
-
voluntary compliance of McDonald and co? what the hell are you talking about?
-
Fearmongering bullshit. There is far cry between regulating all aspects of peoples lives and regulating business practices like 24x7 commercial propaganda and full disclosure.
-
Not really. There are at least 2 issues: a) what are permissible manufacturing techniques to insure the non-toxicity of products (we already have plenty of those but many need to be changed) and b) full product disclosure along with some rules about sugar and fat content of foods available within a given radius of public institutions like schools, hospitals, etc..

Wahmbulance alert! j-bot's getting his panties in a wad again! pardon the moron who didn't realize this is a thread about how junkfood is bad for you.
-
Very poor logic: you are essentially arguing that junk food shouldn't be regulated because it isn't regulated. The point is that it should be regulated like a controlled substance. Anyway, junk food addiction likely kills people faster than addiction to tobacco.
-
Far from it. For example, there is no label for GMO (with the blessing of the Obama admin btw) because if it were labeled many wouldn't buy it. so you are also for the tobacco industry specifically marketing their product to kids? why not?

Floyd, Frankie, Tyler and now George? That is starting to be too many to keep denying although I suspect there is too much money involved to expect confessions. Doping isn't exactly against the law or is it?

I don't think anybody claimed that population health is only dependent on nutrition or that people ate better or lived longer in feudal time.

it's hard to get excited over the issue when i've gotten the shits after drinking untreated water in the hills more often than after going to burger king "26,000 cases for 100,000 inhabitants" per year is hardly inconsequential.

The fact you think what I do amounts to "whining" says more about your hard right politics than anything else. In fact, whining about "liberals whining" must be comment number one by neanderthals on political threads.

Kojak prefers to stuffing his in the victim's mouth to getting them in a wad. Yes, his behavior is consistent with that of a thug.
-
Your just always looking for the next topic to whine about and spew your self-righteous indignation. Get a life. back to ad-hom square one with the swine.

the bottom of the economic ladder always ate poorly but I doubt they had the money to buy it on the street. I see it more as the mass acculturation following the migration to the cities and generalization of the 2 income family that mostly occurred post ww2, no?
-
The world is just plump full of things for you to get your panties up in a wad, isn't it? Only a retard (not to mention what I have already told you) would think that telling the truth amounted to "getting one's panty in a wad"

One of my daughters and her beau puked her brains out for 12 hours about a year ago. Scary.

well, the definition of free-range seem to change which is unfortunate but knowing what's a battery chicken is much more critical to your health. i suspect that there term refers to the occasional 18-wheeler i see blazing down i-5, chickens exposed to the slipstream, peeling off feathers 5 miles behind in great goddamn clouds? the food industry is trying its best to criminalize the taking of pictures by consumer advocates at animal raising/butchering facilities.

that ship sailed...uh...like...2 centuries ago? fuckit, they're cheetoes, and they go down pretty goddamn well w/ some mountain dew and cowboy-killers! McD's and whatnot on every corner, on the boob tube 24/7, ... 2 centuries ago?
