  1. "Statism"? duh! how do you think corporate welfare occurs? There is no utopia. Only 2/3 of Americans who can't get their opinion to matter.
  2. GOVERNMENT HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN LIKE MEDICARE Now 9/2009 8/2009 7/2009 6/2009 Favor 62% 65% 60% 66% 72% Oppose 31% 26% 34% 27% 20% Support for Public Option Remain Strong note how the numbers for the public option remain strong despite a blitzkrieg of propaganda against it. and 77% support choice of public option
  3. There are no "free markets", there is only corporate welfare.
  4. linky Unless of course your idea of progressive is the same as mine....movement towards free minds and free markets! anytime these polls ask questions in terms of the framing used by corporate media propaganda ("government run", "free market", ..), the results are conform to the dominant propaganda. Now if you ask people whether they want a strong health care public option to compete with private insurance, the response is at 2/3 in favor of a strong public option. It's the same story about any other type of government programs such as medicare, social security, public schools, etc ...
  5. that as well as regulation of the financial industry, investment in infrastructure and manufacturing, and increased taxation of the upper income bracket.
  6. 2/3 of Americans want a progressive agenda, what's the hang up? the bankers who own congress?
  7. Who decided that disaffected independents are in the middle? you? Obama's numbers going down could be seen as he showed he wasn't supporting a strong public option that is wanted by more than 2/3 of Americans. I am an independent like many progressives I know and we for sure aren't in the middle.

  9. Only Bush conservatives think Obama is responsible for the mess he inherited. Progressives blame Obama for not delivering the changes that are needed to fix the mess left by conservatives, which is the only reason why his numbers are down. Because Obama has chosen to keep the status-quo and progressives won't turn out to vote in 2010 if nothing changes. Mission accomplished for Republicans and DLC Democrats, if it weren't for the deepening social fracture that is sure to ensue.

  11. And? You are drunk? yes, that must be it because there is no connection between the dictatorship in Honduras and your clip.
  12. err ... blatantly false participation numbers have been announced to legitimize voting under a military dictatorship in Honduras and western governments (lead by Canada and the US) and the corporate media (including the NYT) are rushing to cite these false numbers to justify their support for said dictatorship. To be sure, nobody knows exactly how many people voted but it is certain to be less than 50%. But here's more about the situation in Honduras: [video:youtube]13MW9i2M5UE

  14. Damn! Even the World Meteorological Organization is in the conspiracy: No Slowdown of Global Warming (in the NYT of course, there is your proof it's a commie plot)
  15. Now this is perhaps the most energetic of the basic ska steps. It's called rowing. A similar action to rowing a boat! It's either done facing your partner or beside your partner. [video:youtube]CDAiQ-P7GoA
  16. Is that the first Klenke Jr?

    Damn gobment

Most of the above is very true, but even worse IMO is that waging perpetual war in Afghanistan isn't good for Afghans and will set Afghanistan further back. As I said to Bill, any policy that doesn't explicitly accounts for the role we played in making Afghanistan hell on earth and drawing lessons from it, is likely opportunistic and therefore untrustworthy.

    Damn gobment

All types claim to adhere to the constitution, yet only few wants what is best for Afghans so there is clearly something faulty with your logic. Afghanistan isn't such a threat that we need 200,000 men (military + mercenaries) to occupy that country and kill civilians 8000 miles away. The fog of war isn't that thick.

  21. climatologists and glen beck are "functionally similar" I must say, KK old boy; I never realized New Jersey was quite so gnatty. Pardon my asking, but would you have any spare Deet kicking about your kit? So, how is that conspiracy by climate scientists and all scientific associations progressing? did you find the "decline they were hiding"? Dimwit!

    Damn gobment

I doubt that very much. For starters, any policy that doesn't account explicitly for the mistakes of the past (from Afghanistan to Iraq, starting many decades ago), is likely opportunistic, and therefore not trustworthy.

    Obamas speach

Yes, we should care. The means determine the end, remember?
  24. Yes, I was only stating fact that you have yet to rebut, intelligently if possible but I am not holding my breath.
  25. 10 pages and counting of "scientists are lying to us", "scientists are cheating", "scientists destroyed data", etc ... Good going, conspiracy nutjob.
