  1. t-line's planning to re-open next weekend. I'd give it a few days if you value your bases off the palmer.
  2. dear me, how did I miss this thread? this one goes out to texplorer:
  3. thanks for relegating my ringwald post to page 9, forever lost now.
  4. sixteen candles is a cinematic tour-de-force. the scene when the toga-clad donger is in the tree? simply one of the finest thespian performances in history. the pinnacle of molly ringwald's career.

    Ice Cream

that would lend less credibility to the "it's just ice cream" excuse.

    Ice Cream

that would give new definition to the word "stoogie"

  8. and really impatient truckers who appear to believe it is worth risking a few lives to get their cargo over the pass in whiteout.
  9. putting aside the atrocious spelling, I wouldn't want it the other way 'round, sicko.
  10. sorry that's way too long for me to read. could you include some animated stuff in there? maybe a dancing squirrel or two?
  11. **** meaning: lamest, longest, most tiring, boring choice of descent in all of the pnw.

    CC.Com Personals

must encourage, or at least tolerate, the dirty sanchez on a regular basis.
  13. the last 24 hour guy was there in july. the impasse is exposed but soloable if you found the right spot. I would not want to have to cross it if it was wet. I will say I was glad to have a rope where we crossed, not for the difficult climbing, but the chossy nature of the downclimbing where we wound up.

    Paramedic training

they obviously don't know the 2 meter rule. If you have to walk more than 2 meters between chest compressions and breaths, you may discontinue cpr w/o fear of litigation
  15. Thanks, it was certainly a wakeup call, esp. when the weather really moved in at that point and we were in a blizzard. Would have really sucked if I couldn't limp out. I hate it when you know you just hurt yourself badly, but you're not sure how badly until the adrenaline and shaking subsides.
  16. Traditionally climbed in spring, though you could climb it in winter and summer (if snow allows). Unfortunately it is prone to avalanche, particularly on warming days, or during heavy snowfall. A massive cornice develops all along the ne ridge of north sister, threatening most of the villard glacier as the sun comes out in the spring. Some rock climbing may be necessary on the glisan pinnacle. It is quite loose in places. It can be avoided by going wide right, where there is frequently connecting snow to the top of the pinnacle. Climbing prouty pinnacle from the ne side can be a little wild, esp when the snow patch starts melting out and you have to deal with the stacked choss. It is not difficult, just quite exposed. Might want to throw crampons on if you rap into the bowling alley on the way down. I have headed in there to find some spicy verglas downclimbing.

wth is this? is this some geek hobbit thing? a sequel to gollum does trad?
  18. Yeah both weekends. It's Mt Hood, remember? This last weekend we were hoping to get up to the ice on the cooper spur rim, but the weather kept us on the lower glacier for some cragging. We got a lot of stuff in. It was cut short when I slipped while I was leaning over to fiddle with something, my crampon heel caught on a piece of cord, and I slid off the ice 20 feet into a crevasse. Got really beat up cause it was solid ice down in there, but I count myself lucky right now with just a bruised tibia, smashed hand and shoulder. I was lucky to slid into the smaller crevasse and not the monster we had just been climbing in. Being airborne on a glacier is not a good feeling at all.
  19. I think of him every time I'm greeted by that cool sculpture of his on top of mt pisgah.

  22. it was as of last saturday, but it was snowing heavily as we drove away, and the road was packed powder. I can't imagine it will stay open much longer, if it's not closed already.
  23. I thought we had a deal not to talk about the monkeys.
  24. gilmour ain't pulling down hard on anything, I guarantee
  25. I got my first issue and I must say I was pretty disappointed. That cool feature on the new portland rock gym was pretty cool though. Fun to watch how they molded the cracks and stuff.
