I read alot! Just not childrens books. OK, I'll bite. What's the last book you read Kevbone? Right now I am fininshing up a Louie Lamore short story book. Gotta love them westerns. I would actually consider Louis L'Amour books to be children's books. i read one or two of those when i was in middle school.

Getting a glass like this makes a difference. I'm not kidding. (It's a Riedel Vinum) The first time I tried scotch neat I thought it tasted like crap. It took a while to get used to. I will take 2

it's definitely an acquired taste. I started by drinking blended scotch with ginger-ale, moved-on to cocktails (like a Rob Roy), and finally graduated to drinking it neat. Then I shelled out the $$$ for a good single malt. I'll still go back from time to time and drink blended stuff in strong cocktails when I'm in the mood. the doublewood i have is a single malt. quite a good scotch with out having to pay a whole arm and a leg. gingerale sounds awsome. I am so going to try that. if you do, use a blended scotch (like Johnnie Walker red or black)... unless your single malt is comparable in price... will do. the single malt was not cheep. i baught a bottle for my dad for x-mas and thought i would keep one in the house for me...it is taking more getting used to than i anticipated

  22. Well YA otherwise what would we have to talk about
  23. I *heart* you too Bug!!! and i agree with much of what you said. Especialy about Collin being sweet as pie. I introduced myself to him when he was here in Eugene. He is a total doll and i hope he comes back to see us at Back Country soon!! I know i am not going to be climbing 5.15. and i am okay with that. I sometimes wish i would have started climbing when i was 11 instead of as an adult. but i don't think it matters. I am still not athletic nor will i be. but i love how i spend my time.

Instead of adding ice, you might try adding a little bit of water. The ice melts and waters down the flavor throughout the drink. If you cut whisky with water its a one-time dilution. don't use tap water though. Another option to try is to drink it neat and sip water periodically to clean your palate. Me, I drink it neat. :-) I have a bottle of Balevenie doublewood that i have been drinking since november. it is so lovely. but i agree about the shock to the palate. i am still working on it though. i usualy put it on the rocks. I will try it with a splash of water instead. i will one day drink my scotch neat. just not yet.
  25. the seria club is already working to this end. but their purpose is to not end sport climbing, but to end all climbing, as well as much hiking. the philosophy that was starting when i left the seria club 10 years ago was that going to enjoy nature was actualy damaging nature and that humans realy had no right to be outside the city. they didn't come right out and say this, but i could see it going that way. i still can. in a way they are right. we make trails we leave foot prints everywhere we go. we change things just by being there. you can go there if you like. I am not a huge fan of sprot climbing, but i do think it has it's place. my issue isn't with bolting, it is with over bolting. the day will come when the government will walk into our world. climbing and climbing area's will be governmentaly regulated and controled. this will happen because we can't all work together.
