Yah, sarcasm and the internet can be a bad fit, so often it's dependent on tone and body language that's stripped away in this format. Years ago when I first met Fairweather at a pub club in Tacoma he said, "You're a good guy, I like you, but that doesn't mean I have to be nice to you on the internet." I thought it was an excellent parsing of the personal and the political.
btw, I've been eating a lot of red meat lately, it's pretty damned good.
