  1. On Saturday we were at Careno Crags and only saw 4 other people who weren't on anything we were after. We were at the bivy above Bridge Creek Sat. night and at Clem's Holler & Retardant on Sunday.
  2. Why not? The cragging season is upon us, someone must have a story or two to tell already. I, for one, find it amazing that a long-time climber would NOT have control of his dog. A dog at the crag is fine if it's friendly. However, if its owner doesn't maintain control of it, puts it in the care of others, or allows it to walk on other climbers' ropes and gear, then the dog is deserving of whatever discipline the offended climber feels is necessary. It's a shame really.
  3. This is what I do. An excerpt: "...tlg showed up to climb Angels Crest (5.10b) wearing those shiny black tights and a smile; I faked an injury so I could walk behind her on the approach..."
  4. I kept a weather eye out for you (or your rig), but didn't see either. Where were you climbing/camping?
  5. I saw that you posted on this thread and that was going to be my response: You don't have any gear to mark!

    Lynn Hill?

Well, I won't denigrate the woman; she's obviously an icon in the climbing world. However, her presentation and organization skills were lacking (I felt). Many of her pictures were ones I had already seen in mags or in her book.

    Lynn Hill?

    Yep. Lame.
  8. Hey, I'm invading this place in a couple weeks. Any thoughts on good camping and routes to hit? All I have is Smoot's POS "Washington Rock" as a guide for the area.
  9. You better hope so, since that will keep you safely insulated behind your monitor where you belong.
  10. Whatever happened to this wonderful idea? Stays light 'til about 7 nowadays...
  11. I can't say I really like your lingering smell, either, Dave; must by why I don't go to Pub Clubs.
  12. My favorite (to a leader well above his first or second piece): "Can I have all your shit if you crater and die?" hehehe
  13. tele; Once again, thanks for your insights into a world many of us will never know or see. As someone I consider my friend, your presence over there brings the impacts of the events in Iraq a little closer to home for me. Stay safe, there are people here at home who worry for your safety and wish peace of mind on your loved ones while you are away. 'Til we climb together again, brother. Greg_W
  14. Regarding R&D and Givler's, these require gear belays. A concern to address is his ability to construct a good anchor when reaching his belay. This would be my only concern with him climbing these routes; I know he's strong enough to pull the moves.
  15. Isn't there a "Get over your anger at the whole fukin world" step?
  16. Anybody need one? I got's an extra. You don't have to sit next to me, or nothin'.
  17. Well said, indeed. Kudos to you, Will. Let's hoist a few in Fairbanks in May, if you are still there. Greg_W

    Calling MisterE...

Did my laundry the other day. Pipe down, shortstack.
  19. If you responded to my PM, I can't read it 'cause of the whatever is wrong. I'm rescinding my offer, sorry I spoke too soon. Greg_W
  20. Come on over and do my laundry, then, bitch!
  21. I'm happy with it. Mind your own fucking business.
  22. Actually, most get 15mpg. So that's 80 gallons of gas ... $240. And you can fit 4 people with gear in one of those rigs... so you're down to $60 a person. That's totally affordable to all but the poorest of dirtbags. (not to mention that gas prices will not be $3 a gallon this summer you alarmist jackass.) Mine gets 17-18 on the highway full of gear. Besides, gas prices always go up right before the summer vacation. Why is this a surprise/issue? Doolittle is just looking for something to stir the pot with.
  23. Only difference is that with the proper application of Jaegermeister, Squid can downrate that 5.13 to a fun 5.4 romp.
  24. Gee, and I thought you "personal ad" request for climbing partners was a new low. Oops, wrong again.
