Well, at least I can stop shaving my legs now.

Squid - You are apparently not as versed in hunting and hunting guns as you appear to be. The semi-automatic shotgun is an alternative to a pump-action shotgun; that is all. They carry no greater capacity, which is regulated by state hunting regulations. It's not a matter of need, more like preference. Guns are not toys, Squid; this is a common misconception. From a very early age, when I got my first BB gun my father educated me of the seriousness of guns. Guns are tools - for hunting, for self-defense, for war. Have you taken everything you've ever shot down with one bullet? Are all your shots in the clear at animals standing idly by waiting to be killed? Are you such a good tracker that you are able to get into position and take a shot before your animal (who sees and smells markedly better than you do) takes off? This is the most foolish assertion I've heard. I can't believe you've ever hunted anything. Clips for a hunting rifle? Yes, many models have removeable clips as part of their design. They hold no more than other rifle magazines. The Tikka Whitetail has a 4 or 5 shot removeable clip; the Winchester Model 70 has a top-loading magazine which holds 4 or 5, I believe. Self-defense and violent crime. According to Scotland Yard, violent crime rates have exceeded that of the United States. Approximately 2 million potentially violent crimes are prevented each year by private citizens defending themselves with guns. Why do the police carry guns then? Why do stories appear of private citizens using guns to defend themselves against violent home invaders? In my opinion, the Second Amendment stands to allow each of us the choice to defend ourselves and our lives in a way each of us sees fit. To your p.s.: May be, but I'm sure yours are unloaded and at home. They are useless this way - I'd have several JHPs bouncing around in your chest cavity before you could get that fucker loaded.

This reads like it was lifted straight out of "Mein Kampf". I read nothing in "Mein Kampf" that sounded like this, Murray. Have you read it?

Good news for Greg_W!! Come Sept.14th, you'll be allowed to use Uzi's to protect your Hummer and your really cool CD collection. They focus on AK-47s and Uzis for sure, because that's what everyone sees in Arnold Schwarzenegger and Rambo movies. However, this ban on "assault weapons" is not so definitive as that. There, currently, is no hard criteria for determining what is, and is not, an "assault weapon" worthy of banning. It is entirely objective (one of the main reasons NRA opposed this legislation in the first place). Further, the extension that the anti-gun crowd is pushing EXPANDS THE LIST of "assault weapons" to be banned. Included are several models/styles of semi-automatic shotguns (a common hunting gun) and semi-automatic rifles and/or rifles with a removeable clip (which may or may not be semi-auto). It is important to dispel the myth that this assault weapons ban deals with fully-automatic machine gun style weapons. These weapons have been illegal since legislation was passed in 1927 (I may be slightly off on the date). I would question the "hundreds of thousands" number purported by the Brady Campaign (formerly, Handgun Control, Inc.) as I believe, but am not certain, that there are import quantity restrictions. Could be wrong there, but I recall something regarding this. The Bradys are an interesting bunch. Note that, for public relations reasons, they changed their name from "Handgun Control Inc." to "The Brady Campaign Against Gun Violence". All they are campaigning against is private ownership of guns. Greg

Hmmm, I think this more about the character of the women who find you attractive than any intrinsic characteristic of the gender. precisely! greg is clearly out of touch with what most women want. none of the women i know are out there trying to get pregnant to trap a man. For fuck's sake, can no one discern dry humor anymore? Sheesh. IT WAS A FUCKING JOKE, FOR FUCK'S SAKE. HOLY FUCK

I'm not sure that having a uterus endows one with any special insights into the ethical and philosophical matters that lie at the heart of this debate, such as the one concerning when life begins. If you were talking about ovulating, labor pains, or nursing then that would be another matter. Well said, my friend.

Gee, for a youngster you sure pegged that one, dude. This is a prime societal example of the "I must denigrate her self and accomplishments because she only got there because she's pretty. I could have got there, but I'm not pretty so I didn't get the opportunity. Feel sorry for me and hate her" attitude of some women. Sad, really.
-
Oh, wow!!! Thanks for clearing that one up. It was so obvious, how did we all miss it? So fucking obvious, in fact, that it took some youngster like yourself to enlighten us. Gee, thanks. It's obvious, everyone! Of course. Damn, all that money wasted on my education and NRA Membership dues, etc. and I could have just asked JoshK. It's amazing how obvious you think this is when the 2nd Amendment issue is being debated by greater minds than ours and those minds are realizing that the personal intent of the Second Amendment DOES guarantee our right as citizens to defend ourselves as we see fit. Your "fully automatic weapons" (illegal since 1927) and "rocket launcher" arguments are just a smoke screen to avoid the true issue of personal choice in self-defense and protection of property. Okay, people, notice that in no part of her post did minx DENY that the "hair-flip" move is used as a way to entice men. Thank you and good night.

Which is total fucking bullshit, man. Because it is the men who get fucked into paying that bitch for the next 18 years. greg stfu up you bitter prick. the reality is that it takes two to make a baby ... so whatever. you knock some chick up and you're opposed to abortion. you raise the kid and make her pay. my problem with bronco's argument is not based on the societal aspects of parenting, responsibility, or legality. it's simply biology. when is a life a life. i don't by the argument it's at conception. if you want to go that far you better be very careful not to kill an earthworm, an amoeba, plankton, bacteria, etc or your going to burn in hell Oh, fuck off, you bitter shrew. You know I'm not bitter, so don't even pull that shit. I've been nice to you, so don't make me hit below the belt. 'mkay? We all know that women trap men into impregnating them by batting their eyelashes, doing that hair-flip thing, and asking us to do odd jobs around their apartment in trade for home-cooked meals. It's a scientific fact, deal with it.

Oh, man are you pent up. For Pete's sake, dude; this has descended into the obsurd. I've grown tired of beating each other over the head with our given opinions. Believe what you will, and do so passionately; I applaud you. I believe what I believe and seek to live my life in a consistent, intentional manner. I'm at peace with the fact that we disagree. You're a stupid fucking idiot and my dad could beat up your dad. So there. Say whatever you want, 'cause I am rubber and you are glue; whatever you say bounces of me and sticks to you. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I know you are, but what am I? I know you are, but what am I? I know you are, but what am I? I know you are, but what am I? I know you are, but what am I? Separation of Church and state: The original intent was to KEEP THE STATE OUT OF THE CHURCH... (think about Calvinists/Protestants fleeing religious persecution in Europe) The original intend was not to keep morals and ethical action out of the State... what a ridiculous concept! SO many modern americans are SO backwards in their thinking on this issue. explain to me please, how any religious war can be ethical and moral? No, no...you explain to me how you can reach the drive-thru window at Wendy's from that short-ass little rice-burner car you drive. Bwahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!

Meanwhile, on the other side of the planet, GW was snortin' coke, missing duty in the Guard, and partying his arse off...Real upstanding young'in, he was! Yeah, it was a great day for America when we got "Kerry the Hero" back on U.S. soil so he could stab his fellow soldiers in the back whilst attempting to get into Jane (aka, "Commie Bitch") Fonda's pants.

Got to disagree with you there greg. Too many stupid people vote as it is. The last thing we need is to go around basically begging apathetic and uninformed idiots to please, pretty please vote. Of course none of this is to suggest that Paul is dumb and apathetic My point is to be involved in the process. Which, in my mind, means to start by being informed. You are right, though, John.
-
You're pretty fucking stupid if you think that one man could do all that you propose. Sheesh, you think the Government is ONE MAN? A man who doesn't even have the power to spend money or make laws? Go back to making an ass out of yourself on climbing topics, that's funny enough. You're just annoying here.
-
You're old enough to vote? Bwahahahaahaha!!! According to Snickers, we're all about 14.
-
You won't piss me off. I'll be glad that a young squab like yourself is exercising your right to vote. Good job!!! "Vote however you want, just vote." - Eddie Vedder

1) yup! 2) Why does it threaten you so to let Bronco (and those like him) believe as HE sees fit, not as you think he should? Mind your own fucking business. And puh-leez drop the "dog forbid" bullshit, it's so fucking tired already. 3) Bush admits his religious beliefs guide his decision. It's good he has some basis for his morals. Wouldn't you say? 4) I think it's a stretch to say "...a government influenced by religion," in this case. Come on, do you honestly think that George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and many other past leaders did not operate based on a set of beliefs and morals that were founded on Biblical principles?

You seem obsessed with oral sex in this thread. You not getting the knob-gobblin' lately?

[quote If you can't see the dangers of "word of god" decisions at that level, well there's just no reason to argue with you. Where was the outcry when Clinton was using this tagline? Come on, this seems a little hypocritical: when your guy is in office it's okay? But the other is a fanatic? Here's a fundamental question: Why should an individual with the same rights as you and I be forced to cease practicing his religion simply because of his job?
