  1. I like your Dad, Dave.
  2. Their stupid little one day tantrum will only hurt their employers, especially small business owners. They will be losing productivity. What will it do, reduce tax intake? They spend beyond their limits already. They don't care; they'll just try and raise taxes to compensate and we ALL will get slammed for a small group of liberal wackos' antics. They're not talking about staging protests at the Capitol or White House are they?

    Worth saying twice!!

    Hey ICEGIRL!!!

Dwayner, what the hell? Are you saying IceGirl's fat? I ought to kick your ass for that!!! IceGirl's cooooooll!
  5. No, it's: How do you make a hormone? A: Refuse to pay her. (That's how I heard it originally, anyway.)
  6. Good point Ryland. When it gets that thin, the only thing that matters to me is how loud I can yell, "TAKE!!!" Although, I don't really sport climb so I wouldn't know.
  7. I'm here Dave. That is a bunch of bullshit. Mob rule doesn't work, and that is what they are attempting to do.
  8. I figure it'll help keep the snafflehounds at bay if we make it up North this summer!
  9. Careful, there are laws about barrel length in some states for shotguns.
  10. Don't worry, I'll stay on your side. Who's going to help me run the crew-served weapon I'm getting from the Czech Republic?
  11. The majority of the accuracy, at that range, is in the shooter not the load.
  12. I've got a 9-mm, so I like it. I was just making a case for carrying the .45; it may and old caliber, but it has served well.
  13. That point is moot. What kind of accuracy are you going to get at 50-m? Non-military trained joe-six pack. If the perp is at 50-m he is probably running away and the gun has served it's purpose without firing a shot. Good guys win.
  14. Good point, Ray. I would counter that with the point that pistols are for close-quarters. Right? I'm looking at maximum effectiveness in the first 30', which a .45 ACP bullet travelling at approx. 850-fps can cover in .0353-seconds without losing too much energy. I can look up some ballistics if you want. Dont waste your time. I'm just fuckin around. Too late, dammit. These are all from Federal's website. A 230-gr .45 Auto bullet at 25-yds will carry 350-ft-lbs of energy at 830-fps. A 124-gr 9mm Parabellum bullet at 25-yds will carry 315-ft-lbs of energy at 1070-fps. These are typical loads for self-defense that you can buy off the shelf. That .45 looks pretty good.

  16. I wasn't...
  17. i think a baretta or similar 9mm has better penetrating power. Greg, this subject is so involved and diverse, a statement like that is just preposterous. You should bone up on some facts before making broad statements like that. It makes you look like an idiot. whoa dude, i admit i am not an expert on the subject. i didn't realize this was a touchy subject for you. the only thing i get emotional about is real versus fake. gregm - The reason Trask jumped your shit is that your statement is incorrect. A Baretta is a brand of pistol. A 9-mm is smaller than a .45 ACP round. The .45 packs a huge whallop because it is so heavy - a great manstopper. However, the 9-mm (which I carry) does penetrate better and that is nice for out in the bush where you might encounter a thick-skinned cougar. That said, the relatively new .40 S&W ammunition has proven to combine the best of the .45 and the 9-mm. If I was buying another "carry" gun, it would be chambered in .40 S&W. rr666 - It depends on your budget. Baretta and Colt make some nice small guns chambered in .45 & 9-mm that are good for carrying. For a "carry" gun you want a piece that isn't too large and doesn't have a lot of protuberances to catch on clothing when you draw; several "hammerless" models are nice for this. There are a few nice former Eastern Bloc manufacturers that make a nice medium-framed pistol that is relatively inexpensive. I carry a Makarov 9X18 which I bought used for about $160; it carries really nice. Hope that helps. Greg W
  18. C'mon, Muffy, touch it. It's been so long!!
  19. catbirdseat - One was outside of my dormitory, the other was standing outside a McDonald's.

Uh, RR666, think about it. Scot'armot will be there!!! Where you been, anyway?
  21. I've been in compromising situations and narrowly escaped and had my life threatened twice. Bottom line is that I REFUSE to be a victim, or allow my family to be victimized. In my sphere, I believe seriously that I am responsible for the protection of my family and I take it very, very seriously. Does that answer your question?

  23. That's beautiful, man. <sniff, sniff>
  24. catbirdseat - You need not worry, it is illegal to carry in a bar in the State of Washington. So, we can meet for a beer anytime, without fear.
  25. gregm - It is a non-answer on purpose, and I'll tell you why. It is not for you, or anyone, to know if and when I am indeed carrying. It is for you, and everyone, to expect that I probably am. THAT IS THE DETERRENT EFFECT OF CONCEALED CARRY PERMITS.
