Right on. Plus, how will they get there? I'm sure U.S. flights aren't going there. Fly through France (read "anti-semitic bastards", except Caveman's people)?
  3. "Ent draughts"? You're as dense as Shagrat, or you've been smoking too much Pipeweed. It's plunder from humans that Pippin and Merry scarf. Wrong, shitbrick. When Merry and Pippin first meet up with Treebeard and go to his house, they drink an Ent draught. A diet of these draughts is what caused Gimli to comment that the two hobbits had appeared to have grown since he had seen them last. Semi-literate, check the "in the ruins of Orthanc" phrase one more time. Writing lesson: Your interpretation would be written thus: "I wanted to see Pippin & Merry sitting around drinking Ent draughts, and Smoking Pipeweed, in the ruins of Orthanc..." This would tell the reader that both actions were occurring in the same place. Written as it was, like this: "I wanted to see Pippin & Merry sitting around drinking Ent draughts and Smoking Pipeweek in the ruins of Orthanc..." puts before the reader two separate occurrences in series, not necessarily related.

  5. They'll just take all the extra "Don Johnson Miami Vice" Stubble Shine inventory and re-label it.
  6. Yeah, but you go a few extra shots of that babe that plays Eowyn; she's hot.
  7. Wrong, Shelob is in The Two Towers. Remember? Shelob stings Frodo, Sam stabs Shelob and leaves Frodo. The orcs take Frodo and the book ends with Sam trying to figure out how he's going to sneak Frodo out of the orcs' dungeon.
  8. Wow, you guys are nerds!! That's cool. Is that covered in the Silmarillion? Haven't read that, but it's on the list after Return of the King.
  9. Refresh our memory Dru. Who is Morgoth?
  10. He does have a sort of "Gary Cooper, 'High Noon'" look about him doesn't he? Ironic that he's a gun-hater, but a hell of a nice guy!!
  11. I think you hate it when people ignore you. She's female (I think, we've never met ), that's a given.

Ken is stupid, wrong, a disgrace to the uniform he wore, and probably soon to be dead. Good riddance to that fuck.
  13. He's right, he's not. I've seen him berrate a woman with young children for getting a shopping cart too close to his precious Subaru, threatening them with a baquette and nearly spilling his grande Chai tea.
  14. "Equalizing" and "opposing" are different Plexus.
  15. I lost my PMs, too, and I had numbers and e-mail addresses in there.
  16. Iceguy, Surely you didn't miss the OBVIOUS deviations from the book plot that GROSSLY altered the message of the book. Come on, Faramir was portrayed as a wanker who took the ring to Gondor - this never happened. What about that prehistoric spider bitch? That would have made great effects. The movie showed Frodo obsessed with the ring and that was not the case - he was burdened by it, that was all. The movie portrayed breakdowns in the key relationships - Tolkien wrote exactly different, the relationships were what kept the original Quest alive. Okay, LOTR-nerd flame suit on.
  17. One of the best acts of moderation on this board that I have seen was performed by Matt Perkins, Esq. When a serious thread started to descend into a Dante's Inferno of spray all he said was, "this is ____, take it to spray." In that simple post he reminded me of the original thread's intent. Nothing was deleted; people who delete shit suck.
  18. I believe so, Arlen. However, Bill has added a step to insure that the two pieces stay opposed without having to constantly weight them (as Long's setup would).
  19. No, that would be protein. Bread, potatos, pasta, hardtack, crackers, etc. are good examples of farinaceous foodstuffs.
  20. Ultimate in LOTR Nerdage Become a major LOTR nerd like Muffy and me...try it, you know you want to.
  21. Not true, Klank. The discussion of diet and amount of proteins and farinaceous vittles is key to good climbing trip nutrition.
  22. That's a good one, Caveman. How 'bout this one: pusillanimous - Faint-hearted; cowardly This word is mainly used by trad climbers when looking at a Dr. Flush Amusing sketch between body-length bolts.
  23. Now you're catching on.
  24. You got the spelling right, Caveman.
  25. Yep. I'll be appropriately clad and posted at the parking lot to confront the throngs of Balrog-esque sportclimbers: "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!!!"
