  1. The one I've got my eye on is the GArmont Vetta. It's a 3/4 high top which I like for longer approaches with some 'shwacking. The Garmont Dragontail is a lowtop version and looks nice too.
  2. What's the point of a rock climbing forum? Sheesh. To answer Ms. NOrmandy's question, there are a few bivy spots across from the climber's parking lot at the climbing area. I think there are a few campsites at the lake (Serene), but you have to get away from the trail and water. Only time I've seen tents up there is in the winter; although, I don't hike there in the summer. Bivy and no one will be the wiser. Greg
  3. Uh, no offence, but I don't know if you're the right man to lead this revolt. Your people haven't exactly been successful at throwing off the oppressive yoke, you know. Just fucking with ya. hehehe
  4. Dear Moderator, My birthday is coming up and all I want is for MtnGoat to be restricted to answering "Yes" or "No" to questions. I know it's 6 weeks early, but I've been good. Please, please, please!!?? Greg 'the nice guy' W P.S. Could you also do the same for j_b? I know it's asking a lot, it can count for Christmas, too. P.P.S. Maybe give j_b syphilis, or something, too.

    Nice is out. Fuck everyone.
  6. Thanks Distel, but I think steel would be better for where I'm going.

    Almost time...

Fuckin' A, you cheesewheel! If you can't hold down two cans of Amerikan pisswater "beer", maybe you should quit drinking altogether. Or try something a little more your speed, like Zima. What're you, a cheerleader or some shit? I could have been spotted swigging a Mike's Hard Lemonade product in the Index Parking Lot the other day; I was looking for my pompoms.
  8. Hey, I find myself in need of a pair of steel, flexible strapon crampons for a trip this weekend. Would anyone have a pair laying around I could borrow? I live in Ballard and work in Redmond. Would appreciate it. PM me or e-mail at nwalpineclimber@yahoo.com Gracias in advance-o
  9. You just became the second most huggable liberal I know, Kurt. Belated page toppers, to ya.

    I need help

    Uh, what's wrong with that?
  11. Uh, it was last night.
  12. Props for originality.
  13. Greg, socialism is not tantamount to collectivism. Nor is capitalism tantamount to individualism. This is not a struggle of ideologues in my opinion. Rather, it's a dilemma of a silent majority grappling with the fallout of a half century of selfish pursuit that has benefitted a few and damaged the majority. My view is that socialism cannot survive without endorsing collectivism of a sort. On the flip side, capitalism (while not being tantamount to individualism) is ultimately successful when individualism (of choice, association, etc) is embraced and endorsed.
  14. Oh, I picked up on your troll, numbnut. I just wanted an opportunity to tell you to get fucked in my new friendly way.
  15. Good job, stupid. Did someone think that up for you? Way to contribute. Are you a product of some southern state educational system or are your parents cousins?
  16. I think it is touted by the liberal elites (especially the media) as proof that America would be better off as a socialist/collectivist nation instead of the freedom-loving, individualist country we have now (granted this idealogue is fading). They say, "see, they don't like us, we should change to be like them. Give up your freedoms."
  17. True, but this is exactly the scenario that was protrayed in "Atlas Shrugged"; corruption on a grand scale behind the scenes of the collectivist ideology.

That was a lot of WORK. Could you see me sweating? I was dying to tell some liberal to shut their fucking piehole! It was exhausting. I might have to put this off until the off-season, I need all my strength for climbing.
  19. See, here we are talking about some issues, and you then have to jump into Ayn Rand's camp and label the rest of the world a bunch of collectivists. Are you trying to imply that the U.S. is the strong Howard Roark that's going against the grain for ideological purposes? Come on man. Your amateur philosophizing is ridiculous to say the least. I didn't read his shit, but being a reader and believer in Ayn Rand's philosophy there is NO way you can make the stretch you made. The U.S. has sold out on it's original principles long ago; more like Peter Keating if we're keeping with the "Fountainhead" metaphor. That's exactly my point. Trying to paint this in terms of Ayn Rand's objectivism versus collectivism is absurd. I think you can apply Rand's objectivist theories to all things, you just might be sorely disappointed when you do. Things are going the way of society in "Atlas Shrugged" if you ask me - collectivism is becoming the norm and accepted without realization of the true consequences. I'm headed for Galt's Gulch - I hope it's in the North Cascades.

I'm thinking about starting to be nicer to people. I'm not sure. What do you guys think?
  25. Existing, logging on to this website, breathing, attempting to think, actually typing what is in you brain, did I say "existing" already? I'm sure trask could think of a few other things you've done wrong.
