You all are a bunch of posers! I sat in Max's for an hour....2100-2200 waiting for the pub club to happen and much to my shagrin I stayed there by myself at the bar for an hour. Wahoo. Where was everyone? I was gonna stay in P-town with the sis for the night but no, I wanted to fly back and go to pub club and meet some climbing Eugenites-lo and behold none of you showed up. LAME.

HA! HA! FAA says: 8 hours bottle to throttle. I wasn't gonna get shitfaced if that was what you were thinking.
-
uh, where tonight? I can certianly drink tonight, but I am flying to Orcas Island tomorrow morning early if the weather is good...so not too much alcohol! I am in Portland now..flew up to have lunch with the sis (man, thats tight!) and will be returning to Eugene in a couple of hours.

Good to hear that the garbage wasn't yours, yah, I picked it all up, it was all piled up on the ridge. Lots of mosquitos in the trees, I got eaten alive....it also looked like it was raining pollen! Once I got out of the trees, the bugs weren't bad....just flies. Navigating wasn't too bad either, I took a left at the Pioneer Gulch trail intersection and headed to Corrigan Lake till I ran into that big ridge then broke off the trail. Once I got up on the ridge, I used some flagging that was on one of the trees below so that I knew when to break off to tie in with the trail on return.....then it was pretty easy from there. I was happy when I found the flagging on the way back~

I'm game! My schedule sux though, I work at 0400 in the morning fri-mon. If you have it on one of those daze, I might not get to stay long as I go to bed at about 2000 the night before. I really like hanging at Good Times, like the Steelhead too it is really close to home, Max's I have never been to but wouldn't mind checking it out. LET'S DRINK!

Just got back from Diamond Peak! What a day....went to the South Summit and it was a beautfiul view. Too tired and ran out of day to make it to the real summit. Great hike! I have some pics that I will post in the gallery soon. Went up through Pioneer Gulch and then bushwacked to the main south ridge which brought me right to the south summit, it was so fun! Eugenian, I hope it wasn't you that left the pile of garbage consisting of clothes, an empty propane bottle, and tons of Mountian House meal wrappers on that main south ridge! Whoever did it...YOU SUCK. Fejas, actually we (firefighters) "packout" 95lbs on inital attack fires when it is put out and we are returning home. On the fire line we usually pack about 35lbs, but when you add a chainsaw, fuel, or tools it starts to get heavy. Many thanks for your thanks, it makes the job worthwhile! Not doing it this summer for once in the last 8 years....enjoying every minute of it! I get to bag peaks, fly, have a garden, and have days off, missing out on the money though.
-
I'm gonna go tomorrow morning using your route, Eugenian.... did you use topos? I am probably gonna get the diamond peak quad in the morn at the WNF Office or REI. Thanks for the beta on the compass heading and snowshoe usage. I love land navigation...haven't used the skill since my 6 mile packout of the last fire I was on last summer, but eager to get back into it. It will probably be nicer since I won't have 95lbs on my back! Thanks!

HAHA!!!!!!! Nice brush/touch up job on the pics! Look at the Dorito girl's crotch...that is fucking hilarious! Eye Candy!
-
Its all about the slog!
-
oooooooo....I've been wanting to hike this for a while. I think I will attempt it this week. Those that have been up there lately...is there still snow? I'm doubtful but was wondering if I should take the snowshoes. Maybe I will fly over it and do a recon

damn you girls sound a wee bit bitter. Are you speaking of my little shpeel about being at a man's becon call? HAHAHAHA! Jokes! Jokes! I laughed, did you laugh? You have to admit though that you want what you can't have....whether you have actually thought it or acted it out, both sides feel this way at some point or another, right????? Or am I going crazy with all my funky fantasies about the men I can't have?!?! I love being with men and I loved being in a relationship. Single is good too, it has perks. I had healthy relationships but it was at the wrong time in my life, I guess. Like I said before, take the good with the bad. There are ups and downs to all things. Like today, for instance...I get to fly to Scapoose but I have to spend a shit ton o' money to do so! SHIT...I mean WAHOOO!
-
If you are good, I might even let you in on the details of my first female experience involving a hotel room during a track meet, porn, and three luscious high school babes!.....NAAAHHHH, I'll tease.

You a switch hitter??? Why are ya so interested? You just want me to talk dirty doncha?!? I love to look at women and have sex with women. Large breasts, tall, blonde...yup, that would do it for me. Been a while though since I had a female sexual encounter...wait a minute! It has been a while since I had ANY sexual encounter! Gotsta have a man in the mix though. My rules. I am a voyeur at heart but will participate to! Believe it or not, I suggested to a guy I was dating once that we should have a certain female someone join us and he was disgusted that I even asked! She was soooo hot and she had a twin sister too! Wasn't even sure if she wanted to do it but with enough alcohol, anything is possible! Oh well, gosta try anyway! I am really surprised to find out that a lot of men really don't want to go through it! 6 words: YOU WANT WHAT YOU CAN'T HAVE!!! ...and when you get it, you don't want it anymore! I THINK that if you just cater to his every whim, clean up after his ass, always have lingerie on and dinner ready when he comes home from work, never argue his points, always tell him how brilliant he is, let him stay out all night, raise his children, and never speak your mind than you will be fine! Uh yah, no Ahhh, the language of love...if it were easy to speak there would BE no drama and how boring is that?!? You need the bad to appreciate the good. YingYang. Relationships don't suck...men and women just don't understand each other and never will. Its hard work and I have seen alot of people give up after a while, including myself. You all that enjoy sex in love.....that is super! It can happen, I have been witness! I hope I find the same someday....

Hey guys, I'm gonna ask one more time before I decide whether to hang these on the wall as nostalgia pieces or put them on my rack. Who left a mess of Omega D's at the party? I remember having a discussion about them, but I can't remember what was said. Thats fuckin hilarious!

I liked Lummox's big bouncy breasts better... You too?
-
Lummox~ What happened to your old avatar pic? I miss it!

I'll climb again....just need a mentor who will want to focus all there attention on my progress and be paid with PBRs....I want to do it right. Not sure how many willing climbing folks in the Eugene-Portland area would be up to climbing with me cuz I got tues-thurs off. I also live to fly so every spare moment I am soaring the skies. Would like to bag some peaks this summer as class IV scrambling and glacier travel is more appealing to me than technical rockclimbing. Peace

I guess I should be glad that my brush with death has created and interesting discussion about safety and pushing our abilities. I will be the one that learned the lesson but most of you can take a serious look at the situation and apply it to your own decision making. Believe me, the lesson of carefully measuring the risks involved, making a correct go/no go decision and knowing my abilities were learned.....I now apply them to not just climbing but whenever I fly, fight fire, everything. Goran fell just one week after my fall and believe me it still tears me apart that someone so recognized in the climbing community died making the same mistakes I made and I got away by the skin of my teeth. Not the same technical mistakes but by making a decision that compromised abilities. I am haunted by this. All of you are right...I should not have climbed for various reasons-the unfamiliarity with the people I was with, the dependence on the published rating and what people had said about the route...taking their word for it, and most important, my ability to climb in general after not rockclimbing for so long. I also have to blame my relaxed approach to a very serious sport. I haven't climbed since because I am, in a sense, punishing myself for my foolish behavior. I was very emotional about the whole thing when it happened so that will probably explain my hostility at first, but the Kruegers were right, I had already made mistakes with placing gear previous to this accident and didn't learn from them, I took it as a game, not a serious life-threating sport and it took a jolt of this magnitude to set me straight...pretty shitty. I have always climbed TR and did not realize the risks and proper procedures (ie, trad climbing routes below your ablilites) involved moving to trad. I know now that every move I make on rock, snow, in an airplane will be well thought out and overly cautious. RIP Goran

Thank you to the gracious hosts! I put some of your fresh garden lettuce on my sandwhich...that was so cool. Thanks TG for the brew! Good to see some old and new faces. I have fun party pics, need to make them a little smaller to upload them, save them as .bmp's??? Ideas? Feeling very under the weather today..it was totally worth it! Made the flight back interesting!

although he is young and has much to learn, and he thinks he knows everything Why do you think that because you are older YOU know everything? You say that to anyone that is younger than you and quite frankly it is very rude and condesending! I know people that are younger than me and are brilliant..and they are a hell of a lot more humble about it than you are. Being older might make you more experienced but younger people can have more experiences early in their life. Everyone is different and there are many experiences to be had! You need to except the fact that you have a lot to learn too...you are not that old! Erik has probably seen more beauty in the mountains and climbed more than I ever will in my whole life. He could probably teach you a thing or too!
-
Not going to fly in as of now, just seems awfully complicated but you never know about these things! Will you pick me up? I don't have any takers as of yet except shred but it sounds like its kind of out of his way. Standby. I am flying today to Medford in a twin engine with my instructor and I am going to ask him then. Off to fly! I love this shit!
-
I plan on making it... What should I bring? Food? Beer? Female friends?
-
Here's the skinny...I might be able to pull it off if someone comes and gets me. Very cool plan although my car is way more convenient. I have landed in Aurora and it is a very cool airport. I actually landed there on a beautifully calm night flight. I have a guy that lets me use his plane but I just started using it. I get it at a great rate cuz I know him through work. I would have to keep it parked there overnight as I think I might be a little too blasted! Very cool....I am going to present it to him if someone is willing to drive the remainder of the way. I don't know, my car seems easier but what the hell? I'm off to go fly now!
