Hell with that man. The gauntlet was thrown and as far as I am concerned, Saddam wanted a war with the U.S. If you want shit to stop getting started, maybe you should start with the peopl who are cutting off the heads of civilians with a 4 inch blade while they are still alive and seding copies aroudn the internet. We could be more like Italy and bow down to the likes of terorists. Is that what you all want? To be a bitch of some 3rd world fanatacist?!? I pity you if you do.

Hey ChucK. How about you try and tell me why you think that just because something is hard, we should keep from doing it. Everyone sid we couldn't beat the red-coats and look at us today. If we have a president that is dedicated to winning this thing, we will do it. If you want to be a pessimist about it then fine. If this pessimism has roots in your partisanship then I ask you to use your brain. This is a very important war that I am glad we embarked upon regardless of the reasons we went to war. There are enough reasons for me and just because another nation is "more deserving" of a good old fashioned ass whooping I still stand behind this war and know that we will win.
-
Why are you bringing this up any ways slothrop?
-
So what are you going to do? Let every evil unchecked because few have been able to beat geurillas in their own backyard? Well I say that if anyone can do it, we can and we will do it. We WILL be safer and the World will know that our threats are not idle.
-
...and that is what we really need. SOmeone who will start shit and then leave it by the way-side when it becomes unpopular for his base.
-
-His first position was the he wanted to go to war with Iraq -His second was that he wanted to threaten Saddam with force -His third position was that he would have done "everything differently" from Bush. I have the quote if you want it, but I have posted it before.
-
Sure would, but this isn't kindergarden. We got some seriously fucked up people that hate any thing and everything. You can either take care of this shit or you can wait until you have to.
-
If you use it, and fail, then you're really screwed. You have less than nothing. That's why you don't roll the dice unless you have to. Well we didn't have to in Yugoslavia or Kuwait or Afghanistan now did we?
-
If you use it, and fail, then you're really screwed. You have less than nothing. That's why you don't roll the dice unless you have to. That is why you fucking win. Which is what we are going to do.

A victory for the invading nation delayed

This makes no fucking sense. What are you talking about?

works if no-one hits.

Pathetic. You don't even know your own candidate.

According to your boy Clinton, Yugoslavia was.

That's it. Cite! This is totally hyperbolic crap and you know it.

If we took Kerry's approach, we would have no applicable threat of force. I do feel that countries now know that our threats are not idle. I stand behind the principle taht these nations know no authority aside from force. That is how they got into power and that is how they stay there. It is also how they are going to be thrown out.
-
That is what John Kerry said. Let me tell you something my dad taught me. Don't pull your weapon unless you are ready to kill the guy. There is no difference between threatening violence and using it if you are the commander and cheif of the most powerfull country in the world. If you threaten and fail to use it, you have nothign. Saddam didn't flinch, we let him have it. Good. Kerry wanted to just threaten Saddam. WTF!?! You cannot threaten with force unless you are ready to use it.

Chuck, this obviously wont get us anywhere. There are no sure things in War. Saddam's army was weaker than expected; the geurillas comming in from different countries is more than expected. Shit happens, we deal with it and we take care of business. One other thing to take into consideration is that if the terrorists organizations are pumping this much attention into Iraq it is likely going to severely hamper them if we can achieve our goals there. I am confident that we can, but not with the help of France and Russia and Germany so they can get more cheap oil. That is the funny thing. You liberals screamed that this war was about oil but the ones that were really sucking the tit were all the European nations that opposed the war so vehemently in the first place.
-
ChucK you are twisting it and you know it. EVERY war is a chuck of the dice. You think that Bush had some magical intelligence that made him able to prognosticate the events of the war? The strong insurgancy? He was right in how long the military would take to collapse but he was wrong on the strength of the geurillas. Big freaking deal. It happens. It is planning a war against another country not planning you senior prom dude.
-
Not really ChucK. I was out of the country when we declared war and I was still there when we "won". I think it was a dumb move to say we won, but I can see where Bush was comming from; saying that he had defeated the Iraqui army (which he did rather quickly). I don't agree with how it went down either but hindsight is really 20/20. Most of the reports that said it woul be shitty also said that Saddams army was gonna hold out for a year before being taken over so really it is all a chucK of the dice.

I would say that the Cuba deal was "our" fault as we aimed missiles at Moscow out of Turkey first but that is besides the point. As for regime changes in the places mentioned, I agree that it would have been better to get at those places first. I don't know what GWB was thinking. Baby steps?
