Right-wing conservatives are scared of two things: 1) gay guys molesting/raping their sons 2) their children "becoming" gay I thin this is a cop-out Gary. Lets try to steryotype a bit more shall we? I truly think that both sides are trying to push their moral agendas on the other and it is sad. Que Serrah

Norman. One might make the distinction that Saddam was the one committing genocide not Bush as well. Not a great example if you ask me. Hitler also had every intention of taking over those countries to become part of the reich. Unless you have some info I don't I don't think Bush is planning on colonizing Iraq.

I don't get the whole trip that most conservatives have with gay marriage. I also don't get why both sides are so polarized on the 10-commandments issue or prayer in schools. My rational is this: The 10 commandments are the baisis for the laws in our country but is it a big deal if they got taken out? Not really. Prayer in schools. I don't see anything that says that you have to pray to jehova or jesus or vishnu but at the same time, is it a big deal if it got taken away? Probably not. I think the only thing people worry about is precedence. The liberals feel taht this is the most religious our nation has ever been and the conservatives think that we have degrading morals. Two view points. Spray away.

Who are you talking about here?

Hoo rah. I am as concerned as you are about the way our country is headed. Drinking is my only solace for this ailment.

The thing is that the current status quo in the liberal party is not working. You would think that they would understand this. If GWB can get re-elected, something is wrong. Perhaps the motto "being progressive at any cost" is not working. Kerry had near carte blanche and blew it. Hopefully the dems can figure this out and re-configure.
-
Did you ever think that maybe the liberals are moving and the rest of the public is staying the same? If the liberal party would stay true to its roots, an extremist like GWB would not be able to get in. 50+% of Americans did not yell out that they are aligned with Bush but rather that they are angry with the left for being more concerned with continuing the "progressive" moniker than actually fighting for the original causes of their party. Most people I knew that voted for Bush did so because they cannot endorse a candidate so radically left. They disagreed with Bush, but felt that even Bush could represent them better than someone so out of touch with the average American and is so driven on carying the "progressive" moniker.

The truth shall set you free... problem solved by answering the questions... all the time with out knowing where the route is. Big ups to Dane for not getting caught up in the hyperbole and getting to the bottom of it. It didn't help that you were spewing bogus info. Why did you do that? or were you just takling out of your ass? I still don't agree with the ethic used to put up the climb, but I am happy they were so thrifty with their bolts.

Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and ??? As always you miss the point. There is "climbing" in these states. It's not of the same quantity, quality, and there aren't nearly the number of climbers. Multipitch alpine south of the Mason Dixon North Carolina has some fantastic climbing. I jsut think saying that everyplace that voted George Bush is a shit hole is a little stupid. It is clear that there is destination rock climbing in 50%+ of the states that went to Bush.
-
I have climbed multi-pitch in numerous states in the south east. Would you like me to find some? I can.

Are you people forgetting that this man has already served 4 years in office and none of these things have come about? Accept it an think about what we can do as a nation to better ourselves rather than increase the division. Your eternal pessimism will not help our country at all. Your willingness to do with it takes to progress and get over our problems will.

100 times that many were killed before we got there.

There is great climbing in some of those places.

I signed up with my second choice being infantry ass clown. You think I will spend my day air conditioned? If you think that humping loads in 120 degree weather is airconditioned, then yes i will be. I picked counter intel. because I can speak many languages and can pick them up fast. I have no problem going into infantry and likely that is what I will be assigned to.

Well. I truly believe that we will put a major dent in terrorism. If we are able to put aside our political differences we may be able to advance our cause. I am not going to say that Iraq is or is not a good start in this thread, but I do believe that a large amount of force is the only thing that will be able to stop terrorists and those that support them. The only real question in my mind is this: Will we apply our power in the right countries and against the right people or let our political aspirations/pride dictate who we go after? This is the crux and I think that it is possible that this administration can do it, but they need to think of the country first. I also feel that the divicivness in our country that is shown on this board must be stopped. Whomever is in power we must do what we can to further our country and keep it the best in the World. I think you are asking a good question and showing great maturity in asking it. Lets hope others will ask it as well.
