I still don't think that killing fetuses should be legal regardless of what people do "underground." The 10 commandments are tthe basis of our legal system. It only makes sense that a historical document like that be there. I don't care about it that much, but I don't see why dems are so pissed about it (and reverse for the repubs). call it "spritual introspection" if you want. What is the big deal? Thank God. I will tell you that I think the killing of a child is murder and therefore against the laws of this country. I don't understand why people don't think this is murder; the killing of another human being.

If you think Republicans are somehow above politics and bullshit backscratching political maneuvers, etc., you're delusional. Wake up, dumbfuck. Read dumbfuck! Never said that did I? Wake up from your partisan slumber!

How can Libertarians get Democrats and Republicans to realize that they don't have a claim on my income to give to others?

With freedoms comes responsibility. I feel that we must take responsibility for our actions. If that means having a baby even if it is inconvenient then so be it. Adoption is a route. There isnever a shortage of parent waiting to adopt. Baisically it comes down to convenience. Having a baby is inconvenient but is is the responsibility we must accept for our actions. Overpopulation is the most serious problem facing mankind. Why go out of our way to make this problem worse when there are extremely strong legal and moral arguments for letting the mother decide? I think calling abortion "population control" is sick personally. I am far mroe worried about over-population in say India. Now they have issues. I read a statistic that soon the U.S. will join Europe in having a negative population increase. Regardless, I don't think that population control is a good reason to encourage abortion.

but they did just use atheism. It was part of every doctrine that they used. I was there.

Not true at all. At best this is a generalization. You cannot tell me that the democrats put up a strong candidate. This is the real erason that Bush got re-elected.
-
I think in theory you are right, but in practice the Democratic party gets mired in the politics on the hill and becomes inefective. I seriosly doubt that the progressive for progressive's sake legislation apparent in affirmative action is helping any. I think that both conservativism and liberalism are good at the ore but bastardizations because of politics corrupt the good nature of the ideas.

Yes it did. It was part of the arxist doctrine ratified by Lenin, Stalin, Glasnost and Peristroika. I do think that Atheism is a religion. This is the reason that I feel that prayer in schools is ok. Everyone ahs their reigion and they can do whatever they want with the time they have allocated for "spiritual contemplation."

Ooo I never said nor implied that. I think that when a guy kills a pregnant mother he should receive a double homicide. It has nothign to do with my political leanings. It is us the way I think abotu life. I think people should be responsible for their actions and this includes the men who knocked the women up in the first place. I think that the legislation should be stricter on dead beat dads rather than letting everyone just erase the mistakes they have made.

Much to the chagrin of whom?
-
Exactly and you are both dumbasses. There are some that have been there for 150 years and are being torn down. It is also stupid to erect them to just piss off the liberals.
-
I agree. I think there are few people that were really happy with their choices the other night and they are idiots. The thing I wonder about the Democratic party is that if its only real ideal is being "progressive" where can it go? It has to stop somewhere. It reminds me of Marx's prediction of the fall of capitolism. I think both will happen someday. You can only streamline/progress so far and then what do you have?
-
You are hyperbolizing it. Ok we do not want God in the White House but at the same time do not want atheism to become the official religion of the U.S. either. That was triend in another country once already. I really don't know what to tell you but I think abortion is murder. I also think it is murder when someone stabs a pregnant woman and the child dies. Seems like a no-brainer there but maybe I am missing something. Trying to say that Christians are trying impliment a theocracy is inflamatory and just plain wrong.

Isn't the idea of an election to get the person who best represents the citizens of the country? This is very comedic though. Keep it comming guys.
-
are you still mad I didn't give you a reach-around? Damn babes get over it already!
-
So you are in fact trending to the left more and more. That was all I was asking. Some conservatives wonder if it will ever stop and then "what next." For a party based on being progressive, what happens when there is no where else to go? Should we enslave the blacks so that you can have something to do? I purpose to serve? All I am saying is that there will come a point where you can't go any farther. Some feel you already have in some respects. Affirmative action type policies are seen as crossing the boundries by many conservatives. Just a thought.
-
Name which policies. How about gay marriage? How about affirmative action? How about tearing down the 10 commandments and cutting prayer in schools? Would any of these issues been pressed by a majority of dems even 30 years ago?
-
What moral agenda are the Dem's trying to push? That government doesn't belong in private life? I know what youa re going to say about this but here we go: -abortion -tearing down the 10 commandments -prayer in schools -afirmative action there are a few.
-
I go to church, I don't just live near one. You are full of it and are letting stereotypes dictate the way you think about another person. Give me a break.
-
That's right. He WAS a moderate. But he was not a moderate by the time October and November came around. The fac that Bush got re-elected should tell you as much. Pull your heads out of the sand and realize that you are in fact trending more and more left. You can be glad about it, but please at least acknowledge it is happening.
-
there is no evidence to suggest there has been such a shift, on the contrary since reagan democrats have tried to appeal to the center. Do you even know where libralism started J_B?
-
either way J_B. I think it creates just another reason that this man should be takne out of power.
